Weird vibe ok food

We got ban mis and pho and a few appetizers. Apps were really yummy. Food was really not at all. The bread was so dry and spongy it was inedible.

Get the dumplings and vegan banh mi sandwich

Four of us went for lunch and everyone got either the banh mi sandwich or vegan pho. We also shared fried veggie dumplings and veggie spring rolls (with a soft white rice paper wrapper, not fried).

Fried dumplings were delicious, and came with a sweet soy sauce for dipping. The spring rolls tasted like they were a day old. If you’ve ever put spring rolls in the fridge overnight, the next day, the wrappers become tough, and that’s exactly what these tasted like.

The banh mi sandwiches were huge and fantastic (they don’t have vegan mayo, so tell them to leave off the mayo). You have a choice of steamed tofu, fried tofu, or grilled tofu. There was also a mock meat option but I didn’t ask if it was vegan because we wanted tofu. And tell them to leave off the meat pate, which shows up on the kiosk as an option for the vegetarian banh mi. I don’t know what would’ve happened if we did not check the box for “no pate” for our vegetarian banh mi. The bread was perfect - lightly crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside.

The namesake dish - the pho - was quite disappointing. The noodles did not taste like fresh rice noodles, that have that characteristic elasticity and chew. These were much softer rice noodles that tasted like dried rice noodles. Instead of being chewy and slightly stretchy, they break easily when you pick them up with your chopsticks. The broth had very little flavor, but that can be somewhat rectified at the toppings bar.

I love their toppings bar! They had hot sauce, crispy fried onions, bean sprouts, lime wedges, fresh Thai basil, fresh cilantro, ground peanuts, and more! Help yourself and top your pho or sandwich or noodle bowl with whatever you want! The toppings bar is the reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 2.

I also liked that we can help ourselves to ice water and sodas. No need to wait for a refill.

The kiosk for ordering is confusing. The physical menu has a veg*n page but on the kiosk, the veg*n items are scattered throughout the menu. If you prefer, you can order at the counter from an actual person.

Pros: The menu has a page of veg*n options, Good dumplings & banh mi sandwich, Toppings bar with sauces, herbs, raw veggies

Cons: Pho noodles are dried (not fresh), Veggie rolls tasted stale, Confusing kiosk

Great Food

I have had the vegetarian pho and the vegetarian Bahn mi. Both were fantastic! The service is really quick and the portions are a nice, large size. A favorite in Morgantown!
