Excellent vegan food and excellent value - Edit
The falafel, baba ganoush, tabouli, and hummus are delicious and very reasonably priced. We get cravings for the food and just have to go there. The portions are filling. I enjoy eating at Sahara more than I do at any high priced restaurants.

We love Sahara! - Edit
Every once in a while, I get a craving for Sahara's falafel, and my husband knows there is nothing he can do to stop me. So we go and happily eat lunch. And all is well in the world. The end.

Best Middle Eastern - Edit
While Sarasota is hardly a mecca of Middle Eastern food, Sahara offers a solid menu. We are regulars and rarely disappointed. Hummus and falafel lovers, don't miss this. Note, fresh pita arrives from a Tampa bakery on Tuesday and Friday. Whole grain pita usually in short supply, but worth asking for.

Amazing hummus! - Edit
Sahara has the best hummus in all of Sarasota! They have a nice variety of veg*n options, and the food is always delicious and 100% authentic. They've got outstanding baba ghanoush, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, potatoes, and soups -- all vegan. Definitely worth the trip if you're craving Mediterranean food!
Read moreIt can be difficult to find Sahara if you've never been there before -- they're in a tiny strip mall on Tamiami Trail between Bahia Vista St. and Sarasota High School. Keep your eyes peeled and you'll see it.
Pros: amazing food, friendly staff, clean
