Gorgeous, inventive, fresh, filling - Edit
Amazing brunch, breakfast, lunch and more at sacred grounds. The menu changes regularly and is always delicious. Savoury waffles sounded strange to me at first but were amazing, the sweet are also mouthwatering and showcase fresh produce wonderfully. The smorbrod toppings combine complex and interesting flavour combinations with beautiful bread. The coffee is great, the chai is fabulous and the mango lassi is lusciously fruity. The portions are generous and so filling, you will leave here satisfied for the day. Next time I go back I will be trying the Reuben sandwich - hope I make it before the menu changes again!!

An absolute 💎 in the heart of Exeter - Edit
You’ll find Sacred Grounds just outside of the high street (walking distance) hidden in McCoys arcade amongst an abundance of plants 🪴 There’s plentiful of seating but it can get busy on the weekends so try to get there early!
Read moreThe menu is 100% vegan, I’ve tried the waffles, Benedict and sandwiches (multiple times) and can wholeheartedly recommend them all. The savoury waffles are always a winner, so if you can only choose one, that’s the one to go for!
For drinks, their beetroot latte is the most wholesome accompaniment to a Sunday brunch.
If you do one thing in Exeter, visit here. You’ll also be charmed by the close independent shops in the area including Sanchos (ethical fashion) and a zero-waste shop!
Pros: Phenomenal food at a very reasonable price, Very well located for the eco-minded, The decor and ethos is just so wholesome
Cons: Can get busy on the weekends

Food with a flair! - Edit
A most enjoyable lunch with good service. The food was outstanding although the temperature was rather too cold for us to sit outside, we managed to secure a table inside. Definitely a “must visit”!

Great food and presentation - Edit
We stopped off in Exeter and popped into Sacred Grounds after seeing the reviews. We were not disappointed! We had the Sacred Benedict and Savoury waffle. The waffle was our favourite, the menu maybe small, but the food is excellent in both flavour and presentation. They lose 1 star due to front of house staff. The table we sat on had very clear water residue from the previous patrons drinks, and some food remnants. The waitress did not offer or attempt to clean the table, and instead placed our cutlery and napkins right next to the wet area.

Can't believe I haven't been there before - Edit
The 'egg' benedict and aubergine bacon was divine. No Idea how they made it, and that's rare for me since i love cooking. My friend loved her smoky beans and tofu with avocado too. Definitely going back

What a find!! - Edit
I grew up in Exeter and used to hangout in this arcade as a teenager, but to come back now in middle age and find there a place that not only does cool vegan stuff but loads of gluten-free options too; the gluten free waffles are especially recommended by my gf partner, and I’m raving about their decaf flat white with oat milk; gorgeous!!

Pretty Hip - Edit
It's a sweet vegan spot huddled within a trendy arcade on a hip street.
Read moreThe dogs were welcomed in and given vegan dog treats; my dog who ordinarily turns her nose up at such offerings chomped it down so their dog food is obviously of a high standard. Didn't try the human food but the menu was tempting, settled for an oat Mylk flat white which was masterfully decorated and delicious but on the smaller side. The breakfast tea was also a proper brew and given the thumbs up by an omnivore!
Pros: Trendy spot, Offer free nibbles for dogs
Cons: Small drink sizes

My friends and I went to Sacred Grounds for lunch. The atmosphere in the shop is really clean and fresh.
Read moreMy oat milk latte was good although maybe a little bit small.
To eat, I had the tofu sandwich. This is a BIG sandwich with slices of marinated tofu, thick crusty bread, lettuce and tomatoes and lots of vegan mayo. It is one of the best vegan sandwiches I have ever eaten.
My friends had the Dahl soup which they said was very nice as well.
Love that the shop runs on green energy as well!

I don't know what's going on with their food, but it's a LOVELY location, but the menu is just dry and uninspired. I hope they can get it together soon because they have a great concept and an excellent space.
