Best Indian food I’ve had - Edit
We just discovered this place and it’s great. The owner is vegan himself and is very friendly. The place offers a ton of vegan dishes (just ask for the vegan menu). They also make vegan naan that’s delicious. The dishes have a lot of flavor and the portions are rather big. Ask for no coriander if you don’t like it. If you’re getting the food to take away, the owner will ask you if you need the plastic cutlery or not. Will definitely become a regular for us!

De eigenaar is zelf ook vegan en zeer vriendelijk. De vegan samosa's, look naan, palak tofu, kikkererwtencurry en curry met aardappel bloemkool zijn echt super lekker. Echt een aanrader.

Read moreAs most of you know being vegan and finding a filling meal can be difficult, but not at Royal India, the portions are great, they have an extensive vegan menu (just ask!) and even vegan naan!
Noted on Trip Advisor as the best Indian food in Belgium, it did not disappoint.

I love it here! I have to eat gluten and milk free and the owner goes out of his way to give me delicious food. He even has glutenfree naan if asked for!

I definitely recommend it. I come from Holland to Ghent, especially for royal india (once a month).
Would give it 5 stars if I could.

This restuarant was all in all disappointing. Food average. Manager does the serving and is abrupt and rude.
Read moreWe were asked to leave as soon as the table was cleared so a the table could be cleared even though we had a reservation. We have never had this before.
Vegan menu present but again way over priced and rushed service.
I would not go here again or advise this if you are looking for a nice relaxed place to eat.

First time visiting the restaurant and was super impressed! Me and my boyfriend went there as we've heard they had vegan options, but we were not counting on more than 40 dishes!! They have an entire dedicated menu. They have everything! Garlic nan, all Indian dishes, desserts...you name it!

Delicious, but expensive - Edit
When the owner sat us down and was ready to take our order, we asked what non-vegan dishes could be made vegan. He instead offered to make a unique vegan dish for us and asked a few questions to get an idea of what we would like. Little did we know that he would charge 18 euro per dish for it, which is more than the most expensive vegan dish on the menu. Unfortunately, this kinda bummed us out (because, obviously, we only found out the price after we ate the food).

Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had! The owners (?) are super kind and one of them said he was vegan too and offered to make me the best vegetable dish I’d ever had. It totally was! So satisfying and flavorful. My omni coworkers loved their dishes too, so it was great for different types of diets.

Having been to this place both as a vegetarian and as a vegan, with a partner who eats meat, this place is perfect. Not just for the many choices we both get, but for the amazing authentic Indian flavors and the wonderful, kind and involved service you get.
