There was a bit of cheese on the vegetarian options but otherwise this largely vegan restaurant-cafe is superb. Nice small cafe ambiance for evening meal. I started with spring rolls with beetroot filling and tapioca caviar then my cup over filled with grilled broccoli with barley and peanut sauce. Too full for the array of desserts but had soy cappuccino. Do have a glass of Pico white wine heaven ... Freie Gigante. Two courses and wine coffee and lovely service ... €20!

This is quite an unique restaurant in Ponta Delgada. Quite good vegan food, but you need to be aware that most of the dishes do not have a good protein source.

I love Rotas! I have made it a point to come here every time that I am in Sao Miguel as much as I can. First off the owner is so warm and welcoming and remembers myself and family every time we even contact her for a reservation.
Read moreThe atmosphere indoors is cute and charming. Their menu changes monthly, as some of my favorites have come and gone, sometimes they do return again or something better comes along. The food is always amazing and the presentation is always on point, it makes you feel like you are at a much more expensive restaurant. All the dishes are vegetarian or can be made completely vegan (except some of the desserts.) I love this place and hope to come back 1000 more times.

Fizemos reserva para jantar. Espaço acolhedor e confortável. Música óptima. Serviço muito simpático e eficiente! Pedimos a sopa do dia e um gaspacho (ambas excelentes!!!). Pedimos um hambúrguer (diferente mas bom), canelones de berinjela com soja (muito bons), salada cezar (muito boa) e cogumelos com molho barbecue (um pouco enjoativo na minha opinião). Pratos diferentes! Para sobremesa pedimos um banofee (muito bom). A repetir!

Buena opción vegetariana en el centro de Ponta Delgada. El menú del mediodía es muy completo y está bien de precio: sopa, plato grande donde se puede combinar dos platos y acompañante, y el te del día! Además, los postres estan buenísimos!

One of the best meals and dinner experiences. The restaurant is very cute with fabric napkins. The wine was amazing and the food exceptional. You must visit and make sure to book. I wish we were staying longer so we could go again!

Its high standard cuisine worth a visit. Several vegan options in the menu -we always expect vegetarian restaurants to add more vegan alternatives in the menu. It is easy and vegetarians always appreciate to have good vegan dishes as well. Cramble was georgeus.

Vegetarian restaurant with vegan options. Incredible food! My only regret is not being able to eat here every day. Azores isn't the easiest place to travel if you prefer vegetarian, luckily there is this place. The people are down to earth and friendly, they genuinely care not only about the food but about you enjoying it. They know they're selling an excellent product, and they're proud of it. If you're a vegetarian, you'd do well to book dinner here every night as they as super busy. If you're not, it is still some of the best and most original food you will find. If that wasn't enough, they're also very generous when they pour wine! Good portions at a very reasonable rate, definitely value for money. Cannot recommend strongly enough.

As there are not many vegan options on the island, really wanted to give Rotas a try and oh my god it is so worth it, the atmosphere, service and food were amazing! You do need to book in advance for dinner, which only shows how good this place is. The food was amazing and most of the dishes have vegan options if they are not already vegan. Had a vegan mushroom and lentil pate which was amazing and tofu with panko crust, roasted potatoes and salad as main, which was spectacular. Unfortunately was already too full for the dessert but believe would also be fantastic.

Struggling to find superlatives good enough! - Edit
This place has got it all figured out! From the sweet menues on fabric, to the boxes providing tampons and baby wipes in the bathroom. From the close and “up-in-your-face-friendliness” to the reading-your-mind-service. From the huge lunches to the relaxed three course dinners. Reserve in advance! If not, you can order food to go, but consider calling in because that also takes 1-2 hours. Pumpkin risotto is amazing! And the Apple crumble with berries!! So good.

At lunch, they have the specials of the day and at dinner they offer a la carte menu with different choices, including appetizers, mains and salads.

This place is a real gem! We’ve been for lunch where they have two choices of the day and both were excellent. Last night we went for dinner. It’s an extensive menu with all items being vegetarian and most items having a vegan option. The menu was creative! The food was unbelievable! We had a falafel appetizer with avocado hummus and a ‘cheese’ fondue served in a bread bowl. For the main we had a wonderful stack of grilled tofu, guacamole and grilled pineapple as well as an excellent Seitan dish with rice and grilled veggies! One of the best meals we’ve ever had!
