Lovely, tranquil - Edit
Such a lovely tranquil spot, the vegan curry was great. The portions sizes are bigger in real life than the photos seem.

Convenient and delicious - Edit
Owner is very friendly and the food is clearly labelled vegan. They ran out of sake and whiskey but gave me a glass of umeshu (plum wine) for free. Food of the day was the curry and strawberry pudding - both vegan and delicious.

Though the wait time was pretty high during lunch rush, the atmosphere there was so relaxing that I absolutely did not mind it.

Amazing ramen - Edit
During our time exploring Miyajima Island we came here to escape the heat for a while. The restaurant is located just outside a temple complex in a really cute old tea house at the edge of the forest. The have a small menu which includes a cold vegan soy milk ramen. This was probably the best ramen we have had in all of Japan. The ingredients tasted so fresh and the soup was amazing. The only downside might be that the ramen was gone way to fast. We even had a short chat with the owner, and after telling her that we found the restaurant with HappyCow, she made us some delicious matcha for free.

We found it by accident and we fall in love with the place, so cozy and nice. The owner was really lovely and the lemonade was amazing, full of taste and sparks. We tried the cold vegan noodles for the first time and they were simply fantastic. I can't recommend this place more. Just go.

Beautiful, quiet spot for noodles - Edit
Hexagon Cafe has a very small menu, but their soymilk noodles is a tasty delight on a hot day. The setting is beautiful, with the cafe nestled in the trees beneath the temple. Enjoy a drink and some food in a lovely, calm setting.

Me and my grandma went there and it was the best vegan noodles I have had. I have tried them in different places but they always tasted off but these noodles had all the flavors and were so easy to eat. I definitely recommend!!! ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

Lovely cafe in a calming setting - Edit
Cafe at the foot of a Buddhist temple, serves fresh lemonade, soy milk matcha lattes and a vegan curry (the only thing on the menu). The cafe is adorable and relaxing, but note it is quite expensive. The curry we had was delicious and probably the most nutritious meal I’d had on my trip so far. Ingredients are clearly displayed on each table.

Very vegan friendly (even listing all the ingredients of the curry) and the drinks can also be made with soy milk. They were very friendly and forthcoming. The athmosphere is also quite nice with wooden interior and view of the temple area. I really enjoyed it!!

Good food, calm vibes - Edit
We had an incredible lunch experience! We arrived when there was only another table occupied, so it was very quiet with just a background music. It was the perfect setting for a calm lunch! As for food, they only had one option (vegan curry) and it tasted fantastic. I ordered a hot lemonade (highly recommend it if you like warm drinks) and my husband got the cold one (they make it with sparkling water, and he enjoyed it as well). I would definitely come back here if I ever visited Miyajima again!

Very nice - Edit
Had a bowl of udon which was very simple but still tasty. The owner ran out of tofu, so it was just noodles in broth with chinese chives, but at an excellently cheap price of 700 yen for a big bowl. The owner was incredibly nice, really taking time for us. She also brought us mandarin slices.

Pleasantly surprised - Edit
We saw the 'vegan snack' sign on our way to Daishoin and tried the udon. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We also got some green tea with amanatto (sugar-coated beans) which is a recipe from the 1860s :). The whole meal was very traditionally Japanese. We much appreciate a restricted menu that considers the season and uses local ingredients in a traditional dish (instead of modern vegan alternatives to popular dishes) so this was a huge plus.
