Solid burrito spot in Cocoa Beach - Edit
Solid burrito spot in Cocoa Beach. This is a good alternative to Chipotle for a unique burrito experience. Having been spoiled by near three years of having Mission style burritos in the Mission of San Francisco feel am a fan of Rock the Guac.
Read moreThe best thing that Rock the Guac offers is they have a Jackfruit option which I never experienced in the numerous burrito spots in the SF Bay Area as feel those spots were perhaps more traditional.
The drill at Rock the Guac is your choose your instrument:
flour or wheat tortilla or burrito bowl or three tacos
choose your rhythm:
white or brown rice
black or refried beans
choose your melody:
vegetarian or jackfruit or several non-veg options
Choose your tempo up to giving toppings:
lettuce, diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, spinach, scallions, black olives, fresh or pickled jalapeños, & banana peppers
Choose your salsa:
hot or mild, pico de gallo, salsa verde, or corn salsa
Chips are additional charge either w/ salsa or guacamole.
Love the wide array of made in house hot sauces including several customized sauces including:
Sweet Thai Chili
Papa Guac Special Sauce
Frank's Sweet Ginger Hot Sauce
Atmosphere is nice & service is friendly. Dined here this afternoon & was fairly busy while I was here.
A short walk to the beach. Televisions showed skateboarders skating in backyard swimming pools concrete skateboarding. Can easily see how Rock the Guac would be a popular spot w/ surfers in the area!
Pros: Solid burrito spot in Cocoa Beach

do not recommend - Edit
I hate to leave a bad review for anyone who purposely has vegan options but this meal was truly terrible. I got jackfruit tacos with black olives, pico, and shredded lettuce as my toppings. The jackfruit itself was incredibly sour — I couldn’t eat it past a few bites and had to scrape it out of the tortilla. The other toppings were barely there so I essentially ate 3 small tortillas with a sprinkle of lettuce shreds, a few diced tomatoes, and black olives.
Read moreMy husband had the same experience but also got guacamole which was pretty bland but definitely the highlight of the meal.

Vegan friendly! - Edit
This restaurant is like a “Subway” for Mexican food. Start your order by selecting the type of meal you would like: taco, nachos, burrito, burrito bowl, etc.. then pick your fillings. Several types of beans and rice available – all vegan! Lots of vegetable options to put on top.
Read moreThere is a hot sauce bar to finish your meal creation.
Pros: Beans and rice all vegan
Cons: Fast service

Sour jackfruit - Edit
As noted in another review the jackfruit was very sour and the smell off-putting. Taste it first before ordering. The veggie option would have been much better.

Good burritos - Edit
Good make-your-own burrito / plate place, similar to that of QDoba or Chipotle. Jackfruit tasted good and guac was chunky. I wouldn't say it was overpriced, but was slightly more expensive than Chipotle/ Q-Doba.

Cute but food only so so - Edit
There were vegan options here, including vegan cheese and a pulled jackfruit. The jackfruit wasn’t great though. It was really salty, and had a sour taste to it, and the rice was crunchy.

Great service & food - Edit
Came in about an hour before close, during the pandemic. The customer service was fantastic, the girl behind the counter was very knowledgeable & happy to give recommendations and assistance about vegan options. Very accommodating and happy to assist. I had the jackfruit quesadilla, it was great! And well priced for the amount of food. The guac was solid nothing to write home about as the name might suggest

Cravings for veggies - Edit
Tasty food, loved to (finally again) have lots of veggies for dinner. Never had banana peppers before, they're good! Pineapple guacamole has not a very outspoken taste, but is really good. Jackfruit goes in many dishes, although only this is vegan, mixing and matching gives many menu options

Vegan Tacos - Edit
We were pretty relived to find a place we could safely eat in Cocoa Beach. I opted for the jackfruit tacos and a side of beans and rice, my partner got the jackfruit quesadilla. Pretty middle of the road but it did the trick. BRING YOUR TRAVEL SILVERWARE! Most things were served in styrofoam and they only had plastic utensils!

The smell of cooked animal flesh was just too overwhelming for me. So I did not even try the vegan options they had.

I really don't get why they wouldn't have one vegan cheese (since they boldly say vegan friendly outside), sour cream a little tougher and expensive if not made in house. But every italian/mexican/american restaurant should have one plant based cheese. so we could have pizza, on sandy's etc. (keep in freezer if not ordered often), many people have dairy intolerances. Do appreciate though that they have the jackfruit, and that their rice doesn't have chicken stock, as so many places do, including Coconuts/Sandbar in cocoa beach.

Fun! - Edit
Great little place similar to Chipotle, but with a ‘Family-Run’ surfer-esque atmosphere. Got a bowl with brown rice black beans and corn salsa (I like it simple!). They serve alcohol and Jarritos sodas. There is literally art everywhere, even the trash bins weren’t left out! Staff was very friendly.

Cheerful and Good Jackfruit - Edit
We stopped here last minute for lunch because the vegan place we wanted to eat at was closed. I gave the jackfruit a shot and was very happy with it, and they let me mix tacos shells (2 hard, 1 soft). It's the type of place where you place your order at the counter and everything is prepared in front of you, so it's not snazzy, but great for a quick bite when on the road. The staff was nice and the price was good, although the sangria was not that great. If given the option, I'd give it 3.5 stars.

Amazing Mexican! - Edit
Definitely worth a stop in! I'd consider Rock the Guac an underrated Mexican joint with unbeatable guacamole. Chipotle with island vibes. Worth the trip. Although, it's not very clean. Good for a stop-in after a swim or surf!

Chipotle knockoff - Edit
This place is a small version of Chipotle only, the customer service here is not as good. The place could be a lot cleaner. It's geared towards a much younger crowd sort of high school if not younger.
