Great smoothies with rare exotic fruits - Edit
We stop here whenever we travel to the Miami area and here’s what I will say:
Read moreIt’s a tourist trap. Things are expensive and it’s a business to make money and please visitors. But you’ll still find some cool souvenirs including dressing, hot sauce, or other culinary additives for your kitchen or to gift to someone.
They have almost every variety of fruit imaginable so it’s a great place to have access to these fruits but they are pricey. Before Covid they used to allow you to sample everything which was amazing.
The smoothies are out of this world. You can get a smoothie with no dairy (just fruit and ice - plus add sweetener if you want but it’s so not needed). For $10-$12 you can get a very dense and filling vegansmoothie of your choice of up to 3 exotic fruits. This is a great way to try new things and the price is very fair considering the cost of the fruits you’re getting in it and the size of the smoothie. Definitely try delicious and rare options like guanabana and canistel for example. Options vary depending what’s in season but there are so many great fruits like sapote, dragonfruit, fresh jackfruit etc. You can create your own combination.
I have mixed feelings about the animal enclosures. Over the years I’ve noticed their enclosures getting larger (especially the aviaries) which is great. The animals appear to be well cared for and well fed (they get lots of fresh produce!) but viewing the mixing of so many species is uncomfortable.
Pros: Rare and exotic fruit smoothies are the best, Access to many varieties of fruit!, Fun and family friendly
Cons: Pricey, Mixed feelings about the mixed animal enclosure

lots of cool fruit - Edit
there were a lot of different fruits and snacks (quite a few vegan). it as quite an experience overall especially with all the animals in the back. not quite sure about where those animals came from and if they are taken care of well (lots of diff types of animals in one area make me uncomfy idk) but it certainly was interesting!

Expensive Fruit Stand! - Edit
I stopped here yesterday to see what all the hype was about and was very disappointed. I know it's a "must go to" spot for the tourist but I don't plan on ever returning. All the fruit is very very over priced (especially for being in homestead where a lot of fruit is grown). I bought four passion fruit and it cost me 13.75!!! I later went to another fruit stand further south and saw passion fruit there for only 3$ a pound rather then the 9$ that "Robert is here" was asking for.
Read moreNext I got the passion fruit smoothie. When you buy a smoothie there you have to add sugar,Splenda, or honey (I wasn't impressed with this either.) I asked for no sweetener and then proceeded to be asked by the man which one I wanted because I HAD to have one. Overall though the smoothie was good but cost 6.50$
Finally I saw the animals in the back. As a vegan who's agonist keeping wild animals in cages the disgusted me. The cages were smelly and dirty and it made me sad for the animals there. Not paying my money again to support this.
The only reason my review got 3 stars is because my smoothie was decent and my passion fruit were good. But if you are thinking of going here I recommend not buying produce. The staff also wasn't very helpful.
Pros: exotic produce, lots of fruit
Cons: expensive , staff isn't helpful

Tropical fruit stand - Edit
We made a visit to Robert is Here on Christmas Day. The place was packed!
We gathered a large number of fruits and Robert cut them up for us so we could try them. He also made sure the ones we had chosen were ripe enough.
My son loved trying miracle fruit. (A red berry) You eat everything but the seed and then everything you eat for the next hour tastes sweet. My son was thrilled to eat the fruit and then eat a lemon. We all tried it and indeed the lemon was almost like lemonade. He also loves starfruit and bought three beautiful ones.
We all loved the Kent mango as it was delicious and had no strings.
My daughters favorite was the husked coconut and the
guanabana (sour sop).
My favorite was the sapodilla which tasted like a pear pudding with brown sugar. Amazing.
My husbands favorite was the sour sop.
We liked the Mamey Sapote which tasted like baked sweet potato.
We really enjoyed trying new things and definitely plan to return.
Pros: Quality fruit, Friendly happy .service
