Serves meat, vegan options available. Prior to 2011 it had opened as a vegetarian pub, but since change of manage, it added meat to its menu. March 2013 reported has one lentil burger but no vegan food. It's a busy little cafe overlooking the river Avon, located in an arch under Pulteney Bridge. Serves food throughout the year. MAR 2016 REPORTED SHUT.

Excellent spot for an afternoon snack

I stopped into the Riverside Cafe a couple of times for an afternoon snack and tea. I had the hummus and the salsa. The hummus was especially good and was made in house. The staff were very friendly and willing to answer questions about which items were vegan. The weather was good while I was in Bath, and it was nice to have somewhere that was somewhere reasonably priced to go to and be able to sit outside and look out over the river.

Pros: good food, great view

Cosy and tasty cafe

The Riverside Cafe is a veggie-friendly cafe tucked into the vaulted cellar of a building along the side of the River Avon, beneath Pulteney Bridge. It's accessed first via steps that lead down from the end of the bridge, then along a narrow-ish railed walkway set about 10ft above the river.

There's little space available inside the cafe, but they've maximised what they have, and created a snug, friendly atmosphere. Given the lack of space, they manage to provide a surprisingly varied menu with a good range of reasonably priced vegetarian options. The staff have been consistently friendly and helpful during my visits.

A couple of small tables are located on the walkaway outside the cafe, but these are only suitable for two people at a time. They offer a pleasant place to sit and look out over the river if you can tolerate the bustle of passing tourists.

Pros: good food, friendly, nice atmosphere

Cons: meat, a litle cramped
