Serves meat, vegan options available. Riverford Farm is organic and provides produce box schemes throughout England. At the Field Kitchen they serve fresh organic food from the farm. The menu is set, and you get to sit on tables of 8 so you share with others to make up the numbers. The staff brings out 6 plates of food, five of which are vegetables. Will cater for vegans and vegetarians with advance notice. The restaurant is based at the farm and offers farm walks. Open Mon-Sat 12:30-15:00, 19:00-22:00, Sun 12:00-15:00, 15:30-19:00. Open Mon-Sun lunch and dinner.

Some of the best food ever - Edit
I order weekly from Riverfords but on special occasions I go to their restaurant. They offer a completely vegan menu. This is a total dining experience. They bring you around 6 dishes to your table in quick succession which your dining guests can help themselves to. It’s a magical experience but such a treat. Seasonal organic vegetables cooked in a way that is creative and beautiful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough

Nice leisurely lunch - Edit
We used to love this place when we were vegetarians, although always used to feel that even vegetarians got a raw deal price-wise compared with meat eaters (the usual problem for non-meat eaters at most restaurants but not one you should expect to see at somewhere where the veg is centre stage). So we were intrigued to see how we would find this place probably 8 or 10 years since our last visit, and us now vegan. In general, the food was still very good, and the vibe nice, but the central problem remains. I really wish that they would be more imaginative with the non-meat main (yesterday this was a few slices of roasted pumpkin on some polenta, whilst the meat eaters had beef with lentils and rice). Actually, I wish they'd just stick with plant-based cooking for everyone and make a virtue of it. It was still a pleasant and very leisurely birthday lunch, but at £32 per head I have to say I would think twice before returning (especially having now discovered Rafikis in nearby Ashburton).

Cons: Not enough bread (although they gave us more when , Pudding portions rather small, Better mains for vegans

Incredible vegan food - Edit
Was taken here by my family as a surprise birthday meal. The food was delicious and each course/ plate was a taste adventure. I never knew how creative chefs could be with putting so many different but complimentary flavours on one plate. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. Would highly recommend

Delicious, thoughtful, extensive lunch - Edit
Imaginative and very tasty use of seasonal ingredients - particularly enjoyed the celeriac and walnut dish and the bean puree. I love no choice menus, especially when they are this good - saves food waste, lowers costs.

Amazing for vegans - Edit
Have only ever had great meals, (organic, good value), here in a fantastic setting. Most food is veggie and if you tell them you are vegan at booking you will get vegan main, side and dessert. The menu varies and is based on whatever they have in season.

Loved it here and would come back in a heart beat. - Edit
We were asked our dietary requirements when booking and the restaurant easily catered to us being vegan. All the dishes were centred around their locally grown organic produce (veg focus) which suited us perfectly. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. Some local beers and dog friendly to top it all off.
Read moreOnly thing to mention is that there's a set time and menu for dinner service (19:30), but the food that did come out from that day's seasonal menu was extensive, varied and delicious!

Delicious - Edit
Mostly based on vegetables fresh from the farm. Set menu with loads of different dishes to taste. All of them very tasty and inspiring us to make more of our veg at home!
