Great food and service - Edit
They had two seitan dishes and could make several other items vegan upon request. They were very helpful and welcoming. The food was so delicious.

Authentic Italian - Edit
We go to Lucia anytime we’re in Newport. Terrific Italian food with several vegan options. The farfalle with arugula pesto was delicious. Staff is wonderful - very accommodating to our group with both vegans and a nut allergy. Nice cozy atmosphere that rivals any place in Boston’s North End.

WOWWED right upon entry! - Edit
If you're looking for great service, ambiance, quality of food, you MUST check this place out. Our server gladly went through the entire menu with us telling us what was accidently vegan or could be made vegan.
Read moreWe had the warmed bread with balsamic for starters (free right off the bat) followed by soup of the day which was this delicious blend of veg, beans and pasta with the mushroom brushetta no cheese of course (excellent!!!).
I customized a spaghetti dish and had marinara sauce with mushrooms, seitan and arugula.
Everything exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend. Every staff member was engaged. They didn't clang dishes. They seen you when you walked in, put down what they were doing and came to serve you. Absolutely extraordinary service and the food was bang on, full of flavour and filling.

Several seitan options - Edit
Tried a seitan and mushroom dish that was vegan with the omission of cream. At $25, it was priced and portioned like fine dining but was just decent. Extremely friendly and helpful owner/hostess. Menu helpful for vegetarians but not vegans. I am thrilled to see Italian restaurants experimenting with seitan, but I would not return.

Good northern Italian restaurant. Their pasta is Eggleston, so there are many possibilities. They had two seitan dishes in the menu - I tried a Madeira sauced dish served with broccoli and had a side of pasta. All very good.

Nice little restaurant. Lots of vegetarian options and several can be made vegan. We enjoyed a seitan dish, pasta, & a salad. Definitely a good option for a nicer dinner in Newport.

Great Experience - Edit
My husband and I are whole food plant based and are visiting Newport. Our waiter (Hasan) knew exactly what we could and could not eat. He made some great recommendations that we really enjoyed.......after two good-sized salads, we had the Arrabbiata sauce over gnocchi and the Bocconcini di Seitan al Madera without cream, both very delicious! When he brought the bread, he swapped the butter for some olive oil. Definitely appreciated his knowledge and really enjoyed the quality of the dishes!! We were too stuffed to have any sorbet for dessert. Nice ambience and a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend.

Good - Edit
My mum and I (both vegan) had the arrabiata and seitan dish. They were both good, although I wish they had more options that were fully vegan (no cheese, etc)

Amazing! - Edit
I was really happened with how the vegetarian menu could be veganized. it’s hard to find vegan options at italian restaurants. the restaurant is also full of locals and extremely quiet- that’s how you know it’s good.

Authentic Italian w/Vegan Option - Edit
Great local restaurant that is less touristic - clearly this is a spot where locals go. Always a good sign. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There are some great vegan options on the menu and the fresh bread was just that - fresh and right out of the oven. We really enjoyed dinner here.

Excellent vegan Italian dinner - Edit
We were thrilled with our dinner at Lucia from start to finish. It has a charming and romantic atmosphere. Our server, Cheryl, was attentive without hovering and very pleasant/helpful.
Read moreThere are two pages of vegetarian items (appetizers/salad on one page and entrees on the other). Most can be converted to vegan. We were thrilled to have CHOICES!
The fresh hot bread that we dipped in EVOO was amazing. We split the Seitan al Madeira and the Penne Mamma Afra (hold the goat cheese). Both were flavorful and undeniably excellent. The portion sizes were very satisfying and appropriate.
We finished with mango sorbet served in a frozen 1/2 mango shell. It was beautifully presented and delicious.
I highly recommend you check this place out when you are in Newport.
Pros: delicious vegan choices, offers traditional meat items for non-vegetarians, romantic
Cons: I don't live nearby!
