Healthy, delicious, ethical, local - Edit
Unlike the vegan chains that are proliferating, offering vegan junk food, this place is local and if you choose well healthy too. The owner chef makes the food. Everything we got was very tasty. My prosperity bowl was excellent and the sour cream and jack cheese made in house. Not the Frankenstein stuff that so many restaurants use. The corn chowder was fabulous. I got a pecan turtle for dessert and it was so good. I bought a second one. Can’t say that was healthy, but it was worth every bite.
Pros: Everything made in house, Lots of good choices, The food was delicious
Cons: Lots of tempting sweets, Closes at four on weekdays, and six on weekends

Thanks. We're happy to be your favorite stop. The parking at times is tight on the street in front but behind the cafe there is a a large municipal lot less than a block walking distance.

Great vegan food in New London - Edit
We went to Sail Fest and it was the typical barrage of meat and cheese food trucks. Thankfully Right Path Organic Cafe was there to save the day!!
Read moreWe were lured in with their street tacos and also split a Speech Bowl (brown rice, sprouted greens, teriyaki tempeh, teriyaki almonds, Thai sauce) and an energy ball (dates, almond butter, pumpkin and sesame seeds, shredded coconut). It was all good and the prices were reasonable. They have a great location on Bank Street
Pros: All vegan, Great/hip location , Good selection/prices
Cons: Limited parking

Fantastic bowl - Edit
I had the Monk bowl years ago but it's improved. It's a great blend of vegetables, tempeh, rice, and satay sauce. I loved it. Also, good portion size for the price. Airy big room and a few outside tables.

Still thinking about this place - Edit
Got a soup, partner shared a juice with me. They're pickier than me and really enjoyed the juice. The soup I got was outstanding (I think it was the vegan clam chowder). I mention this place to someone at least once a week because I liked it so much.

Decent Bowls in a Vegan Desert - Edit
There's not many choices for vegans around New London, which makes this place really wonderful. The space is great, and their food selections are fairly diverse and they have some wonderful coffee, juices, and smoothy choices as well.
Read moreThe food was OK. Pretty average bowls, relative to other places in bigger cities with a larger vegan market. The portions were pretty small for the price, so if you're an athlete or active one entree is not going to be enough. While the selections were diverse, I found the food to be pretty bland. The tempeh teriyaki in the Monk bowl was tasty, but only seemed like ~5 small crouton sized portions. Everything else was raw veggies served on a bed of brown rice.
I'm happy that there was a place to get some lunch close by where I didn't have to wonder about what was in my food.
Pros: all vegan, great atmosphere
Cons: small portions

So flavorful! - Edit
Tried Right Path for the first time today and it was great. We've been traveling the last few weeks and have been suffering through so much bland, flavorless vegan food. So, Right Path was like water in the desert; everything was delicious and just loaded with interesting flavors, herbs and spices. Also, the food was super fresh, and the place was immaculately clean.

Healthy Vegan Spot - Edit
I've been to Right Path a few times before but this was the first time I've been since the pandemic hit last year and I'm excited to come back as life gets back to normal. Some of their food is a little healthy or "crunchy" for my out to eat taste but I understand that many people are looking for that and much of the menu still satisfies my vegan "junk" food cravings just with less grease! On this day I had the Mac n Cheese special and a chocolate chip cookie. The "cheese" sauce was very creamy and delicious and the cookie was fantastic. A large portion for the price as well. The women who served me was very friendly and the food was served promptly. Check out their Facebook page for weekly specials! I think next time I will try the burger or Saturday brunch!

Bad texture - Edit
We’ve been here once in person and I tried the Wisdom bowl. My husband order the sun burger. Both plates were good. Today we ordered again on Uber Eats and I decided to try the seawich. I took one bite and I literally could not swallow it. The texture of both the bread and “chicken salad” was unbearable. There was no flavor which made everything worse. I’m extremely upset that I wasted money on food that I couldn’t eat without gagging. Their desserts, juices and smoothies are all very good, but I won’t be ordering an entree again.

I love the way this place is decorated! Good vibes, friendly staff and very clean. My husband and I had Buddha bowls and they were delicious and filling. Although we didn’t indulge, the baked goods looked tasty. I wish this place was closer to us, but we will definitely be back.

Vegan Nirvana - Edit
In celebration of one year since its move to expanded quarters and of its 4th anniversary since opening, time now to revise and update my review.
Read moreI am grateful that Right Path has flourished amid the pizza-and-ice-cream nutritional desert of downtown New London. While the café’s food is all vegan and mostly raw, fortunately neither word appears in its name, else it would alienate the uninitiated. Its name Right Path implies that carnivore restaurants are on the Wrong Path, with which I wholeheartedly agree, but feigned humility calls upon us not to shout about it.
Names of dishes should make my dry mouth water, but names here only make my confused head spin. The Sanskrit names such as Nirvana and Namaste that proselytize the tenets of the Dhammapada and the Upanishads would be just as uninformative if written in Hindi alphabet or in binary code. When I order a side of intangible Liberation or a bowl of instant Wisdom, I try to hold back my sidesplitting laughter. I could rant on and on about the pretentious names, but Happy Cow allows only 2500 characters. Thankfully, all the dishes both look and taste better than their names sound.
While old New Londoners may find both the religious terminology and the raw foods hard to swallow, fortunately the smoothies appeal to a wider clientele and keep the café afloat. While juice blends can be customized, my fav is the all-veg Radical. The wheatgrass juice is potent and sweet. And the 200-proof ginger juice (only for the brave!) is quite unique among juice bars.
The more solid fare, all made inhouse, is wholesome, delicious and nutritious. No fried foods and no mock meats, which make a mockery of veganism! The anagrammatic Calm Chowder is outstanding. The raw Kale chips are better than any Stale chips from the marketplace. The menu’s core are the salad bowls on a bed of delicately flavored brown rice and crowned with unique toppings. My fav is the Speech bowl (a name eerily similar to the nearby Speedbowl racetrack), topped with tempeh and almonds. Do persevere and scroll thru all the clutter on its FB page to check for daily specials. I lust for the specials Lasagna and Shepherd Pie.
Despite its incongruous Hindu-Buddhist outer trappings, this café is a winner. During my weekly visits, my earthly body feels like it has attained Samadhi, and my ethereal being like it has ascended to Nirvana. So do embark on a pilgrimage to downtown New London, where the smoothie bliss of a cupful of Nirvana can await you too.
Pros: all vegan, mostly raw, nearly no salt, all organic, for all organic the prices are just right, always friendly and accommodating staff
Cons: Hindu-Buddhu-Vodoo hocus-pocus

Not What We Expected - Edit
Living in Norwich there certainly isn't an abundance of vegan options when my fiance and I try to go out to eat, so we decided to try this app (first time) and we found Right Path Organic Cafe (first time.) We decided to try it out and after looking over the menu, which was mainly smoothies and salads, we decided on the "Seawich" with our choice of "tuna" or "chicken" salad, which we respectively ordered along with their "Calm Chowder." The chowder came first and besides minor texture issues, and not much else beyond the body and some corn, our sandwiches came out. They were identical to one another and were served on what I can only refer to as a seed-loaf, not bread. The inside, as it turns out, was also just seeds with some lettuce, and as a side it was served with kale chips which were just dehydrated kale and some nutritional yeast, not even salt. The grayish-brown texture of the sandwich and the overall lack of flavor was unfortunately disappointing and was almost unpalatable. We took a total of 3 bites of our food before politely asking for a refund as we felt mislead. We were expecting seitan, soy protein, or even just regular tofu, but NOWHERE on the menu does it say that it was a 'seed salad sandwich', and that was regrettable. We were given our refund for our sandwiches but we paid for the chowder as it was the only decent part of our meal. We aren't sure if this is supposed to be raw vegan, paleo vegan, or just plant based but we were not impressed by our food, and for one of our only options to eat out ending on a bland note we were both left feeling a little aggravated. I'm sure the smoothies and salads are fine, but if you plan to walk in here make sure you ask for what is actually going into your food before you order it so you won't be shocked when it comes out.
Read moreAlso, it's worth mentioning that they did have some desserts that looked quite good, and ultimately we were going to peruse after our meal. However, the desserts were ludicrously expensive with their "Key Lime Pie," which is only a 2" disk at about the same height, costing $5.25. I have made plenty of plant based foods and have experimented with many different proteins to get some good, hearty meals, but it NEVER, EVER ran me as much as to cost $5.25 for 2" of pie. THAT was insane!
P.S. I am not allowed to give 1 star for this review, however the staff was at least nice enough to give us our money back, but not courteous enough for "thank you" or "you're welcome."
Pros: We got our food refunded...
Cons: EXPENSIVE, Not many meal options, Meals not as advertised
