Nice atmosphere but room for improvements to food - Edit
Rick’s has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The menu has changed since I was here a few years ago and the vegan options are not great (supermarket fake burgers and vegetables that are not very fresh). But it is nice if you’re just going for a cup of coffee or fresh juice.

Diner offering breakfast and burger - Edit
Charming little diner, American stile. They offer a really good vegan English breakfast (until 12pm), a vegan wrap and a vegan burger.

Best meal I've had in Oxford - 5/5 - Edit
Rick's is the best food I've had in Oxford. Would recommend the portabello and halloumi burger in particular. Generally, you can order halloumi or even beyond burger I'd you ask. He mentioned today that almost all the food is homemade, even the basics like the hommous, which checks out given how it tastes. Would recommend any vegetarian or vegan try it out.

Breakfast! - Edit
Wow this place does good breakfasts! Also very reasonable prices for Oxford. For once the name is misleading in a positive way- the café is actually mainly vegan. The only downside is the annoyingly perky waitress who was clearly making a number of customers a bit nonplussed (we're in England, it's the morning, people don't like being asked how they are). However this was a couple of months ago so maybe things have changed.

Great food and friendly staff - Edit
I had the vegan breakfast here and it was one of the best vegan ‘fry-up’ type breakfasts I have had with lots of variety and nicely presented. They also do really nice smoothies and the staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely love to come back and try their other options.

Tasty Outlier - Edit
Hidden away a short stroll outside of Oxford's bustling city centre lies a veggie eatery definitely worth a visit! We sought refuge here after an extensive walk through town to get some lunch, and I'm very happy we did.
Read moreOut of the many promising vegan options, we selected mezze and berry pancakes - a great choice, as it catered to all tastes and was delicious.
The cafe itself is a bit small and doesn't have a bathroom, but the food more than makes up for it.

Brilliant - Edit
The food was amazing, so delicious. Their fries are perfect! I had loads of food, way too much, so it felt quite wasteful. But maybe that's just a personal thing, if you're really hungry it's great!

Perfect couple spot - Edit
Really yummy food and such a huge variety from soups to full English breakfasts to pancakes and smoothies. Perfect couple spot as super cosy (especially on a rainy day) for a quick brunch. Only downsides are it's quite expensive and the full English breakfast is not particularly big and doesn't fill you up. Would have to order several dishes but this sadly gets quite costly.

Tasty food, welcoming owner - Edit
A relatively small place but thanks to the warm and attentive owner/manager we felt instantly at ease and at home. A thoughtful menu of small mezze dishes and mains, which were mostly vegan. We shared two mezze selections, making a decent lunch banquet! Breakfast and burgers looked good, as did the smoothies. Would be a regular if I lived here. Worth the short walk out of the centre.

I had the pancakes and falafel burger and both were absolutely delicious! Good value and food made fresh, with a good option of food throughout the day as well as smoothies. Lovely owners and employees and a relaxed atmosphere.

Perfect quiet spot for vegan lunch - Edit
Perfect little spot for grabbing something different in Oxford. As a vegan, Rick's vegetarian is perfect for lunch breaks - as the menu is almost fully vegan. It's vegan smoothies are also well worth trying. They're the best I've had in Oxford. Their falafel wraps rival some of the best on Cowley Road and their mezze platters are gorgeous and affordable. Try the vegan Middle Eastern Breakfast for something really different. I'm geared up to try their vegan pancakes on my next visit.

good food and good value for money - Edit
Friendly service. Quite small but nice and the food was good (tried a mezze). Looks good for vegan brunches and there are lots of (sometimes labeled) vegan options in general. Will definitely be back!

Hi,
Read moreThanks so much for the review!
At the moment Rick's Vegetarian operates a 100% Vegan Kitchen and that is why there are no labels, we'll add this on the menu boards.
Hope to see you again soon,
