Just okay. Good for the basics if you’re on a road trip - Edit
I got the sweet chili tempeh bowl with the sauce on the side (because the sauce has a lot of sugar, which is to be expected with a name like that) they use Roland sweet chili sauce, 14 g sugar in 2 tbsp of sauce.
Read moreIt was a nice shot of flavor with my fork dipped in, but it would have definitely been too much if it was mixed in.
The tempeh itself is unflavored. Seems like it was just steamed and that’s it. Basic plain brown rice, plain black beans, small fresh mango pieces, half an avocado. (Honestly, I thought this was going to be a bowl of chili with tempeh in it)
The roasted veggies side dish were the highlight of the meal. Next time I’ll probably pass on the sauce and just use the roasted veggies as the flavor component.
My husband got the avocado toast. He appreciated the three different flavor profiles of the different pieces.
This would be good for folks who are on a road trip and need a lower sodium meal to offset other restaurant foods they’ve eaten. (And without the sauce it’s lower sugar too.) but the price is a bit much if you’re close to home and have food there.
Oh!! Also, the vegan desserts weren’t gluten free this day.
Pros: Healthy (without the sauce), Basic
Cons: Too expensive for the simplicity/low effort

Wonderful atmosphere - Edit
Awesome vegan g/f desserts. I stop in and get a few as a treat to take home with me. Their Whoopi pie cookies are delicious. I had the sweet chili sauce bowl with tofu and everything was fresh. I highly recommend the rasta coffee too. #Veganuary

Fantastic! - Edit
Love their French toast, waffles, Hot chocolate with whipped cream (BYO as theirs is not dairy-free) and cinnamon, and fantastic coffee. Look forward to trying their other vegan options soon. Good music, and quirky decor make this place perfect for a breakfast or lunch date.

Really cute location! - Edit
Love how inside is decorated with local art and merch, such a cool mellow vibe. There’s not a ton of vegan options on the menu, but enough to not be disappointed. All drinks can be vegan modified, and their pastries seemed to all be vegan!

Tons of vegan options - Edit
I really love this place! They have quite a few already vegan options on the menu, but you can also ask for some of their other stuff to be made vegan. My favorite is the breaded eggplant wrap with no cheese. Or the Greek meltdown with no tzaziki and hummus instead! They have so many non dairy milks too: almond, soy, oat, and coconut. Just watch out for the chai drinks, the powder they use has dairy. But they have bagged chai tea that they can use.

Hip Vegan Breakfast Spot - Edit
It’s a small cafe with several vegan pastries and a few vegan breakfast items. If you’re in the area, it’s a good fix, but too few items to make it a regular spot.

A must visit for breakfast - Edit
My husband and I, both vegans, always find eating breakfast out to be a little difficult especially when we're in ocean county but I wanted to take my vegetarian sister out to have something entirely vegan. Naturally I checked the Happy Cow app and stumbled upon Revolutionary Lounge. The staff is very kind but the particular morning we came the chef was running really late. It took about an hour or so to get our order, which we were assured is not the norm. My sister and I split a vegan muffin that was offered and the vegan French toast, my husband got the veggie tofu scramble. We all agreed an hour wait for the food was totally worth it, I'll definitely be coming back for breakfast next time I'm in the area. To compensate for the long delay, the cashier even took the French toast my sister and I ordered off the bill- we thought that was incredibly nice of them to do.

Delicious breakfast - Edit
I had the delicious vegan French toast (what a treat!). Not many vegan choices but the menu was clearly marked and there were a number of vegan baked treats to take away.

Delicious vegan GF baked goods! - Edit
I recently revisited this place s few weeks ago to pick up a ginger lemon loose leaf tea before going to the movies and was pleasantly surprised by their abundance of vegan desserts, many of which were gluten free. The I got a chocolate peanut butter tart and a cherry pie crumble square thing. I went back a week or so later and they had st Patrick day themed desserts which included a 'GF blarney stone' which was chocolate cake with peanuts and glaze and some other yummy stuff on top. I get the impression there is always a new selection which keeps it exciting and fun to try new creations!

Vegan options are a win - Edit
Usually in this area "Vegan options" means french fries and a house salad. Revolutionary Lounge always has true Vegan options that are planned and prepared for those who live a cruelty free lifestyle to have proper choices available on the menu. In addition to their Vegan menu items they also have a dessert case which features a very prominent selection of Vegan desserts and sweets.

Coffee is good, but food just boring - Edit
I found myself in Tom's River for some work related business and planned to have lunch here since I had seen the menu online. I enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe of the place and see how this could be a fun place to hang out and catch a music show. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in my meal. I wanted to try something new and not go for the scramble since or portabello sandwich since I make those at home. I ordered the Lemon Basil Tofu sandwich hoping for something exciting and instead I got a plain boring tofu. It is not really grilled just cooked on the Flattop. I guess I expected grill marks if it says grilled. The tofu was boring with no flavor whatsoever. It had a lemon basil sauce and greens and a lemon wedge full of seeds. The side options are pita or tortilla chips. I went with the pita, but it came with nothing to dip them in and just made my mouth feel dry. Thankfully the coffee was great. I wish this place had better food, but with such a large menu in a tiny kitchen it is hard to deliver quality.

Worth A Stop For The Scramble - Edit
We had the tofu scramble with a side of home fries which was very good. They have vegan items on the menu but this is the only dish we had for brunch. The coffee was excellent. Don't expect soft jazz as the name is revolutionary. Loved the art work. Earlier in the morning I would have preferred the music was a notch softer. By 11am I would expect the music they play although if too loud it might turn off the average traveler.
