Un patron absolument adorable, qui n'avait plus rien à vendre et nous a donc offert le bento qu'il lui restait. Délicieux, je recommande l'endroit ! La prochaine fois nous arriverons plus tot !

AMAZING PLACE, BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD - Edit
I went there on a special occasion with my mother, who is not what we can call a "convinced vegan". I ordered a big plate with a little bit of everything to try all the dishes on the menu, and she ordered a soup. Actually, it was way more than a regular soup, she had a lot of small "amuse bouche" around it. The flavors are amazing, even after 4 years of being a vegan, cooking a lot at home and having visited many places around the world, I still think this is the best food I have ever tried. It is somewhat gastronomic, yet not overpriced!
Read moreThe chef is a bit eccentric and the place itself not especially charming but you have to go beyond that to get a chance to appreciate the food. Again, it is so perfect. Did not try the desserts because I was not hungry enough but I am sure it is comparable to the main dishes.

Je pense pouvoir dire qu’on est sur de l’art culinaire. De plus c’est aussi bon que beau. Enfin un resto qui se démarque des autres avec des saveurs inconnus et avec un chef...aussi talentueux qu’original, mais surtout très très sympathique. Je recommande si vous êtes de passage à Bordeaux.

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. Beautifully presented with flavors to die for, the food left me wishing I never had to leave Bordeaux. The place is really tiny, so definitely make reservations ahead of time.

Warm welcome, great food + wine, vegan desserts! - Edit
As soon as I walked in the door at Rest'o, I knew I was in for something special. A weekday lunch crowd was already tucked into the small (10 table?) dining room, and from the way the proprietor greeted clients, most were clearly locals and frequent customers. The chalkboard menu listed three lunch options, two of which had cheese. I asked if the daily special had cheese, and was assured it was vegan. I sat down, and was soon brought a carafe of fresh mint-infused water, followed by some delicious bread. Next came a glass of wine and the piece de resistance: The daily special. (see photo!) What a wonderful experience! Every component--from the tiny bowl of veg stew to the stuffed tomato to the petite roulade--was brimming with flavor. The sauces were divine, with hints of curry, coconut, an mystery flavors I couldn't identify. Flavors were so rich, and I was assured that the creamy sauces were made with soy yogurt and tofu creme. The woman who served me explained that all the desserts were vegan and gluten free, so I settled on the chocolate-pear tart. It was rich and chocolatey, with a crunchy crust. Rest'o will be my haunt the next time I visit Bordeaux!

I loved it, all of it! Slim and Akane are just the best. The food wad original and very good! most of the desserts were vegan (with agar agar).
