"Heavenly" culinary experience in beautiful setting

This old church is turned into a gem! Not only do they serve several clearly labelled vegan dishes but they do so with a culinary flair and top-notch friendly service.

Because at first sight, I was not that impressed by the menu, as I have had Gado Gado often and was not a huge fan. However, at Oost they bring dishes to the next culinary level, pleasing both eyes and tastebuds. Even our non-vegan family appreciated the vegan dishes. We tried the bread with fresh spreads, usually, I find this a quite boring dish but they provided several types of bread and tasty fresh vegan spreads vegan aioli and muhammara. The other starter, crunchy cauliflower tempura was tasty but I have had them more crunchy and I was disappointed the miso sauce was not vegan but it was a reassurance that they are well aware of vegan ingredients and adapt dishes accordingly. As mains, we had the Tajine with green wheat and the Gado Gado. Both tasty.

We didn't see any vegan desserts on the menu and didn't ask as we were all more than full after the starter and main dish. They are coming up with a next menu next month and they already indicated to include even more vegan dishes,

They also gladly cater for other (dietary) requests such as the gluten-free and strict timing we had available and they were very supportive to grant those requests.

Both the indoor and outdoor setting is lovely. Outdoors we enjoyed the sunny terrace but indoors you can see the characteristics of the old church and peek into the kitchen located above the entrance.
Make sure to come and enjoy this "heavenly" experience.

Pros: Original alcohol free drinks

Cons: served a non-vegan amuse, so double check
