Seasonal Veg

The vegan option was actually really nice, polenta with seasonal vegetables and a garlicky kind of pesto.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Only one vegan option

Vegan option promoted, clear understanding of veganism

In Cassis it can be hard to find vegan choices for lunch or dinner. Also in Le Calendal there are mostly meat or seafood choices, but they have two clearly labeled vegetarian options. On the menu they also promote that there are vegan choices on request.
Since they use local products, their menu changes regularly. When we were there, they could only offer a mediterrane vegetable plate for vegans. Even though it does not seem like much, it tasted delicious. Also non-vegans were very satisfied and on a Saturday evening all tables were full and people queued all the time. Reservation recommended!

All in all there could be more vegan choices, but I was happy to have a clear understanding of veganism, tasty food and also communication in english was possible.

Pros: Clearly promoted vegan option, Communication in english possible

Cons: A lot of meat and seafood

Absolutely delicious vegan on request

Sat outdoors in the Mediterranean air in a space with maybe 10 tables. It’s in a smooth rock alleyway (but perhaps steps to get to the alleyway?). Anyways, as to the food — delicious and well prepared. The requested vegan plate was a medley of French/Provençal offerings all perfect for mopping up with bread with a garlic basil spread. The other diner eats fish, and it was equally delicious.

Pros: Well prepared and delicious , Accommodating and knowledgeable of vegan request, Fresh produce

Cons: No option for beans (cannell, cranberry, etc), For vegan protein, need different place/time
