Cafe and concert venue which became fully vegan in Feb 2021. Live music nightly. Meals range from soups to sandwiches (BLT, breakfast sandwich with scrambled tofu) to rice bowls. Everything is made in-house, including the kimchi. Not wheelchair friendly as there are five stairs at the door. If you call ahead, you could be let in through the back door which has one stair. Has child change table and high chairs. Reported closed January 2022.

Delicious wholesome food - Edit
Loved their house salad (huge portion and delicious dressing) and grilled cheese sandwich (made with creamy sunflower mozzarella). They were in a lunch rush so it took a while (approx 30 minutes) to get my food, but the service was really friendly.

Musical café - Edit
I have been there a few times. They present live, creative music shows nightly; serve espresso, tea and vegan food. Note that the music is really loud, so it's not a place to talk with a friend you haven't seen for a while. They currently offer only take out, due to COVID-19 (like all other restaurants). Anyhow, the bowls, the nachos, the cakes are very good. Honestly, everything is good! I really liked the breakfast bowl and the carrot cake!

I went in wanting a quick healthy treat and the banana bread was straight out of the oven. Probably the best vegan banana bread I’ve ever had!

LOVED IT! Everything was amazing! - Edit
I had an amazing matcha latte. We tried lots of food and it was so tasty and flavourful. Seriously!!! And it was SO cheap i was completely amazed by how good and how inexpensive it was. They are family friendly and served alcohol too. They have concerts going on too there. It was a good first experience. Will definitely be going back there!

Really good, tasty and cheap! But, why keep using dairy? Why don’t you just go vegan?

I ate here a few times whilst I was in Montreal, and was never disappointed. The food (all vegan) was delicious and the service extremely fast. Nice place to chill for a while, too. Would recommend the chilli bowl and mac&cheese.

My favourite place in Montreal - Edit
THE CHILI. I've gone back at least 20 times for that dish. That being said, the main dishes are all the perfect portion size; they're big enough to fill you up but not so much as to be stuffed if you eat the whole thing. Seriously recommended, however don't go in there thinking you can have a nice chat with a friend or whomever else past 6pm because you'll be yelling at each other over the table. The live music gets very loud, and it's true that it gets quite crowded, especially on weekends.

Pros: Best chili ever, totally afforable, Very LGBTQ+ friendly environment, Great live music every day starting at 6pm
Cons: The great live music is quite loud, Not good for conversation past 6pm, Everything other than the main bowls is pricy

Resonance - Edit
I do like this place. But i find it rather expensive for what it is, and it is always jammed pack. The food is fine, not really bad but not super good either. Personally, the staff has always seemed rather snobby to me. Not mean or anything... but not very welcominng. Give it a try, though! Most people love it

Good food, coffee, and music! - Edit
Such an interesting space. Some evenings there are music performances(hence the cafe name) of various genres(lots of classical and jazz). The food is really delicious and mostly vegan. I really love the avocado bowl and the coffee is really nice. It's also very affordable. Places like these make me so nostalgic for Montreal after having moved away.

Delicious food and coffee. - Edit
When I lived in Montreal, this was my favorite cafe to eat and work (though it does get very busy, especially on the weekends, so get a table early!). The food is really delicious and so are the coffee drinks. The channa bowl and cashew cheese were two of my favorite things on the menu. The default milk is a homemade coconut almond milk, but they do also (unfortunately) serve dairy milk as well.

The cheap and delicious food never disappoints at Café Résonance: BLT, yummy soups, sushi bowls, chili, grilled cheese sandwiches with homemade cashew-based vegan cheese, amazing carrot cakes, nice drinks, alcohol-free ginger beer, great coffee, Caesar salad, etc.

An underrated gem - Edit
I'm visiting Montreal (from Vancouver) for a month, with loads of recommendations from friends on where to eat the best vegan food. Only one person suggested Resonance but it has quickly become my favourite place. Not only is the entire menu vegan and mostly made in-house, everything is delicious, based around whole foods, and less expensive than the other places I've been to. There are decent size portions, and the flavours in all the dishes I've had work together perfectly. There's free wi-fi, great music playing in the day, and free live music every night at 9pm. Highly recommend: the coconut yogurt and granola, it's like healthy dessert; the victoria bowl; the channa bowl; and the tamarind soda.
