Not a restaurant but a small urban community founded in 2014 where adults and children share a house and garden. In the basement is a vegetarian canteen where you are asked for a donation for your meal and are expected to wash your own dishes. Reported closed, Apr 2021.

Good experience

Comunitary like space.
Self-service, wash your plates, contribute as you much as you can.

Pros: Thematic food nights, Activities, Nice garden

Cons: Sometimes a place at the tables is not available

Hit or miss food, but the people are cool

The food here can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's good and other times it's lackluster. The reason for the difference in quality is that different people make the family style meal every night.
To clarify: they offer donation dinners on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings (as of now).
The people are the best part about coming here. Most are welcoming and open minded.
To get in, push the round buzzer button on the concrete post and someone should be there to let you in shortly.

Pros: Really cool, accepting vibe, Donation-based, Traditional Portugese cooking

Cons: Inconsistent meals, Can be a bit cold in the basement

If you want a human, non mainstream experience

The place is a community, totally informal place.
On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays they organize a community dinner open to the public. Dinner is vegetarian, actually when I ate there everything was vegan.
You make a free donation for the dinner and wash your own dish.
Overall food was good, but more important people from the place was there to eat with and to tell me their stories, which for me really adds to the experience.

Pros: People
