Nice clean modern decor, good food, Central - Edit
I have been to Redemption a few times over the past few months and have always enjoyed their food. It is tasty and visually pleasing. The staff is friendly. And it's in a very central and vibrant area.
Read moreThe wine is good, if a bit on the expensive side, compared with the food price.
Pros: Everything is vegan, so there's enough choice

Good but a bit bland - Edit
Lovely atmosphere and staff. I did however find the food a bit bland. The dessert made up for it though!

Great service and tasty food - Edit
We didn’t have a table booked but we were offered a seat outside. Immediately felt welcome by our server; I ordered the full English breakfast with scrambled Ackee, this was the first time having Ackee and I was not disappointed.

Great food but quite pricey - Edit
To us Northerners the prices at Redemption seem excessive, but apart from that we had a really nice meal. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. I had the Neal's Yard bowl, with sourdough, olives and chips (amazing home made ketchup!). My husband had the Redemption Burger and really enjoyed it.

Menu could be more original - Edit
The main courses are a little too obvious and it would be great to see a bit more originality. I’m not a dessert person but was very impressed with the brownie and the sticky toffee pudding. Staff are very friendly and do a great job.
Read moreReally like this place but think the dishes could be more imaginative and the the quality of the existing dishes varies. The sweet corn fritters were amazing, the bowls were a little underwhelming and relatively easy to replicate at home.

Super friendly staff but food is slightly bland - Edit
It’s a beautiful restaurant in the beautiful setting of Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden. Myself and a non vegan friend sat outside and it was lovely and atmospheric for a Saturday night.
Read moreI didn’t know what to order so we ordered the waiter’s recommendations: The samosas, sweetcorn fritters, the redemption burger and the tofish moqueca.
The food was all extremely well presented but all slightly missed the spot in taste.
The sweetcorn fritters just tasted like batter (you couldn’t really taste the sweetcorn). You needed to add the lime chutney that came with it to taste anything but then you just tasted the chutney.
The samosas were overpowering with too many flavours and I actually found the flavours clashed.
The tofish moqueca was actually the loveliest dish. It has some beautiful flavours but needed a bit of heat (I.e chill or pepper). If I had a bottle of Tabasco sauce in my bag, I would have added it and it would have been perfect.
My friend had the redemption burger. I didn’t taste it so can’t comment but did have a sneaky chip with some sweet potato ketchup and both were really good. The chips were lovely and crisp and salty. Now the chips were the thing that they definitely did get right.
Having read some of the other reviews that complain about portion size and price, I had no problems with it. The portion sizes were good. Both me and my friend were super stuffed afterwards.
As for the price, two starters and two mains came to £50. No drinks. We just had tap water. For me, that’s pretty standard central London pricing for an evening meal out so I wasn’t phased by it.
Pros: Beautiful location , Filling, well presented food, Crisp, salty chips
Cons: The food is almost there, just lacks flavour

Perfect lunch - Edit
Can’t rate the experience highly enough. I had a Neal’s Yard bowl, a sticky toffee pudding, and a banana smoothie. All were fantastic. The portion size for the bowl was modest, so I will probably have a starter next time. Staff were happy to make small changes to ingredients and service was friendly. I can’t wait to go again

Go for brunch! - Edit
I’ve been to Redemption before but didn’t think all the food options were to my taste, but I have to say, go for brunch. The brunch was fantastic, and we shared it alongside the sweet corn fritters which was also great. Both of these could be made gluten free.
Read moreOur friend had the sticky toffee pudding, while we had the ice cream. It was the best meal I’ve had there, and a refreshing return from lockdown!

Redemption - Edit
I had a very expensive bland kale ceasar salad the restaurant neglected to add all stated ingredients to. The employees offered a free dessert to make up for this, but I'm trying to limit my sugar so this was not an option. Would have been nice if they gave us a credit for part of our order. I'm not inclined to go back even though I live nearby.

The interior and the atmosphere were really cozy and nice. The desserts we had were one of the most beautifully decorated we've ever seen and taste wise they were really nice as well 😍 would definitely come again.

I mean, it probably is healthy, but they've revamped their menu to make it exciting! The tofish curry was my FAVOURITE, so creamy and flavoursome and the fritters were amazing too!

The food was nice. It was quite busy and there weren’t any tables left so the staff were able to get me a seat at the bar which I appreciated.

Not as good as it looks - Edit
The place seem very beautiful. It's well located and the stuff is very nice and attentive. However, the food and its composition and texture not so much. We have ordered the "redemption burger" which did not even lasted at the shape of a patty but a wet paste-like mixture of different vegetal ingredients that do not connect with one another. The minute one of us took a bite the patty fell apart into pieces from the other side of the bun. To sum, not as good as it looks, especially not a good value for the prices listed on the menu.

Hadn't realised this branch existed - went to the Notting Hill one several times before. This one looks "posher" and the staff is also less attentive unfortunately. The dinner menu was noticeably pricier (or maybe because of the location?) That said the food we had was de-li-cious. I had the pasta of the day - vegan carbonara with brown rice pasta. Very tasty creamy sauce but would have liked more veg/crunchy seeds to give it more of a wow factor, compared to my partner's and mum's dishes who for a couple of pounds more had loads of ingredients on their plate. The Redemption burger was really good so was the Korean bap. The kimchi slaw was nice and spicy.
Read moreWe shared a blueberry and lemon cheesecake which was very good too.
All in all - nice dinner but quite pricey and the look and feel of the restaurant is a bit pretentious compared to their other branch (or compared to the Wild Food cafe just opposite) Not sure I would go back with non-vegan friends.
Pros: All vegan, Food feels fresh and healthy, Nice location (Neal's Yard)
Cons: Expensive , Service not so efficient (for 12.5% charge!), Atmosphere a bit cold

Good food, nice vibe - Edit
We had the tempeh burger and a kale salad - burger was very nice with good flavors. Kale salad was fresh and had a Caesar-type dressing (could do with a bit of vinegar). The place was packed when we were there but food still came out pretty quickly. Their cakes looked delicious and so did the pancakes, but we were too stuffed for dessert unfortunately. Would definitely go back.

good looking but lack of flavours - Edit
dishes look good but taste is bland... The only tasty flavour I found was the taste of raw oignon (and i got it for the rest of the day). Had the redemption burger served with a tomato slice inside in December !!?
Read moreThe vegan steak inside was nice but bland. I´m a bit tuff but was expecting much more from this highly rated restaurant. I think it’s a very trendy place but I was looking for a tasty vegan experience rather than a nice and beautiful concept store...
Same experience with the roast black beans dish.
The desserts are good looking too but served with fresh fruits that are not of the season (beautiful strawberries in December??!) and taste is bland...
Pros: good looking mêlas
Cons: bland flavors, summer fruits served in december , 12,5% charge for service

Great - Edit
Nice restaurant that is entirely vegan and alcohol free. The dishes are great but not fantastic. It is a great place to eat just before seeing a musical in the neighborhood. Be warned that it is better to book in advance as the restaurant can get pretty crowded.

Pretty good just not amazing - Edit
We went here for a birthday. I had the jackfruit bun and fries. The fries and slaw were delicious but the jackfruit was so salty it was almost inedible... desert was amazing (toasted banana bread) and the drink were excellent... really wide variety and lots of alcohol free plant spirits. Service could have been better and the price was very high. Worth a try to experience it but I doubt I’ll be back unfortunately. If only that jackfruit had been less salty!! My friend had the risotto and said that was also salty, so I’m not sure if it’s a common problem in thy sir food or was a one off...

Vegan food heaven - Edit
Redemption is definitely one of the best vegan places I have ever visited and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone in the London area. The Buff burger was incredible taste and texture wise as well as being served on a delicious charcoal bun with incredibly tasty slaw. The dessert menu is also divine and the banoffie pie is by far the best I’ve ever had! With rotating daily specials, takeaway options and lovely staff Redemption gets 5 stars from me
