Got order right the 2nd time - Edit
Halfway through my meal, server came out and told me they gave me butter on accident. They gave me a new dish and didn't charge us. Feeling an unspoken pressure to maintain my purity status from my omnivore coworkers, it was obvious they expected me to go to the bathroom and regain my innocence. With a little trick of the finger, I was back in the races and enjoyed my freshly prepared meal. Good times. Going there again this week. They didn't have to tell me they messed up, but they did so still 4 stars. Would give 5 if they had clearly labeled vegan options instead of just vegetarian.

They gave me the wrong order - Edit
They gave me the wrong order for take out, no big deal, I called back and the woman at the front told me that I was lying and not to come back. She said she checked it herself. The owner then said she would call the police if I came back... I was so nice too.. never got my money back. The owner is a b****.

Waiter said that rice and beans are vegan. - Edit
Vegetarian options are marked on menu. I asked the waiter if the rice and beans were vegan, including asking if they have any butter, lard or chicken broth and he assured me they were vegan. I ordered the guacamole tacos no cheese and they were delicious. It definitely felt like too much guacamole to eat in one sitting though so next time I would probably get some veggie fajitas or bean tacos or something. They also have fried plantains as a side.

Best Mexican in Utah - Edit
Red Iguana and Red Iguana 2 are the best Mexican restaurants in Utah by far. I personally prefer #2, the atmosphere is better, more open. All of their food is amazing, along with their bar. I would recommend this place as a must go for anyone in SLC.

The food here is fantastic! Definitely try something with a mole sauce on it. The servers are wonderful and understand what vegans need modified in their meals, so don't be afraid to ask :)

The wait staff understands vegan :) I can't get enough of the various moles (all are veagn, except alemendras)! plus knowing that their rice and beans are both already vegan makes ordering easy. Great veggie fajitas, and the margaritas pack a legit punch. I usually go for lunch to ensure there's no wait to get a table. Also, even when they're busy you can get take out in as much time as you'd wait for a table. In warmer weather, I try to sit on their patio.
