Great food and a social enterprise - Edit
A must visit when you need sustenance in Perth. The food is delicious, very well prepared and a good range of choice - soups, burger, sandwiches, pasta dishes. Also great selection of sweet treats - cheesecake, scones, pastries, as well as cake, whenever I've visited. Have tried 'full english', scrambled tofu and bacon on muffin, mushroom arancini, BLT and smoothies, and of course plenty of cake, and no negatives with any of them. + It's a pleasure to support businesses that do so much for the community.

Lovely friendly vegan cafe - Edit
Found out about this place a few days before a long drive through Scotland, so it broke our journey up nicely. Staff were very friendly. We had a broccoli rice bowl (GF) and wild mushroom arancini (GF), both delicious! There were other gf options, the soup looked great. Also took a flapjack with us for the journey, which had an orange flavour, yum! Would definitely visit again when passing this way.

Fantastic vegan cafe - Edit
Stopped overnight in Perth and was over the moon to find this little gem. We went for breakfast and also got cakes to take away. The full cooked breakfasts were gorgeous, my son has a pancake stack which looked delicious and I’m imagining it was considering how quickly he wolfed it down. The owner was lovely and so good with our boys, despite them constantly running over the look at the mediaeval well in the floor!

I was walking around Perth between trains and came across this place. Fabulous food and coffee, lovely decor and friendly staff 😀. Truly vegan too, not just ‘plant based’.

Nice lunch - Edit
Went for lunch, I had the mac ‘n’ cheese, it was good but needed more sauce, the garlic bread was really good. My husband had the burger, which was also really good, very good hand cut chips, which needed another minute or two to be perfect. We shared the dirty chips with chilli, this tasted great but was a bit mushy. Didn’t have room to try a cake! Will definitely go back again

Stunning cafe - Edit
Rascals is wonderful. I had curried cauliflower soup. It was smooth not chunky and was really good. I then had something else which eludes me now. It was seriously delicious. I got chatting with Dodi who runs it and she is very impressive. A real force for good. Went back next day and picked up some sandwiches for my conference as well as grabbing a really nice full breakfast. Highly recommended.

delicious & fresh food - Edit
We had our lunch at Rascals Cafe & were surprised by the delicious taste of the handmade and fresh food. We had the house burger and the bowl. The patty tasty very meat like (as far as I can tell 😉) and the spicing & sauce of the bowl was very special and tasty. They even had vegan mayonnaise, super nice and friendly staff. Very recommendable!

"VEGAN because we ALL matter". - Edit
Having searched online for a vegan restaurant in Perth, we found Rascals. It ticked all the right boxes for us; vegan, a social enterprise and dog friendly... what more could you want? The icing on the cake - tasty food.
Read moreI really wanted to try one of the main meals, but we had a bit of walking to do so settled on something a bit lighter. We had the soup/sandwich combo - French onion soup with ch*ese crouton with the Coronation chic’n with crispy fried onions and the Tuna and red onion served on home-made bread with tossed salad and crisps. We shared a delicious Chocolate, caramel cheesecake with ice cream afterwards. I nearly always take a photo of my food, but it looked so tasty when it was put down in front of us, I forgot! Thankfully a previous reviewer added photos of the soup and sandwich.
The Cafe was a lovely, spacious and bright space to eat in. We left feeling full, satisfied and pleased we'd contributed a wee bit to a very good concept. I hope, in this difficult political climate, that this valuable enterprise can survive.

Full Vegan Breakfast - Edit
This is so much more than just a very good vegan cafe, it’s a social enterprise with a whole lot of values, ideals and ideas behind it.
Read moreMy wife had scrambled tofu on toast and I had the full vegan breakfast. Neither can work out why we’ve waited so long to try scrambled tofu, it’s delicious especially the way Rascals do it.
If you’re in Perth you should definitely visit whether or not you’re vegan. Everything is sourced locally, prepared fresh and absolutely delicious.
The use of Scottish rapeseed oil and “Who Gives A Crap” loo rolls were indicative of their commitment and attention to detail.
If I lived in Perth I’d probably visit everyday so it’s up to you to support it until I can return 🌱
Pros: Everything is vegan , The people are friendly and knowledgeable , Everything is vegan
Cons: It’s in Perth and not Dumbarton , I can’t visit everyday , It’s not on my doorstep
