Such delicious food & kind owner - Edit
We had a kebab, tandoori burger & butter tofu chaat and it was allll so delicious, we wish we could have fitted in a dessert. The owner is also very friendly, as well as vegan ! We really loved it here.

Rare Earth is such a precious vegan place- they make such clean, delicious vegan food that even non-vegans can enjoy it thoroughly. They even have vegan Chinese food, dosa, and chaat items. Their pizzas, pastas, cheesecake etc. are all delicious too. The owner- Shammi is a passionate vegan, who is trying to create tasty yet healthy dishes for all. They have over 800 dishes- not all are on the menu, so ask the owner and staff for recommendations too. You will be spoilt for choice here!

Read moreMy non-vegan friend had never had anything vegan before and was dubious but was so impressed by the banana milkshake and the Chicken Tikka and Rogan Josh dishes that he wouldn’t believe they were vegan. The parrantha and rice were also tasty.
They seem like an ethical environmental and vegan place which is also amazing!
Just shows how easy a vegan eatery can be if people put their mind to it. #Veganuary
I went another time and it was so lovely to chat with the owner about the cafe and his aim to promote environmentalism and veganism.
The Chicken nuggets were so tasty.
I also took away some snacks for a journey the following day as they have a grocer in the front part.
I couldn’t recommend this place enough. #Veganuary

Great Vegan spot on Mumbai - Edit
This restaurant has a very extensive vegan menu. The owner is 100% down for the vegan cause and went above and beyond to create a vegan menu six years ago when there were very limited vegan alternative foods available. His hard work and passion for the vegan movement to take off in India is definitely reflected in his restaurant. We visited twice and the first time was with a large group of 10 family members for an event we were having. The restaurant was super accommodating and flexible. They even went out of their way to make a dish that was not even on the menu - of course if they could not we would have understood :). The food was all great and service was good as well. You can see they go above and beyond to make the customers happy. If there are any issues, tell the owner and he will handle it. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a really nice small green area in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant itself if located towards the back of a larger complex so walk all the way down the small alley to get to the front door. Their international credit card reader was not working when when we went so just ask if you can use your credit card if you have an international one. Highly recommend visiting this place and helping out small business!

Best Vegan Place I have been to - Edit
It's a homely place in Khar (2 min walk from KHar station). They have so many vegan options, I was so happy to see an extensive menu. I ordered the kheema burger, Tessarossa Pizza and Energizer Smoothie. Everything was recommended by Shami Sethi who is the owner and amazing host, he spoke with so much passion we heard his story after our meal. We loved every bit of what we had. It tasted so delicious, we could feel the ingredients used are top quality. Overall, highly recommended!

The waiter didn't know how to use the credit card machine, didn't know the price of the cheesecake, and he brought me dessert I didn't ask for... That I had to pay for.
Lucky the dessert was yummy 😋

After ordering burgers from this place back to back, I had to visit and try out other dishes too. The ambience had a nice, cosy feel to it, dimly lit, tiny table & chairs. Mr Shammi had even made special arrangements on request, which was really sweet. The tofu chilly and apple pie were delicious and the burgers were extraordinary. The taste, the texture, the packaging, the quantity, the quality, the price - all perfect!

We were staying in Chembur, but Rare Earth was well worth the trip on each of our visits!
Read moreThe well-stocked shop must be heaven for local vegans, and we even managed to treat ourselves to some snack foods that we’d not seen elsewhere in India. If you’re travelling, they also stock a big range of toiletries and cosmetics, if you need to restock!
Of course, our main purpose for visiting was to eat. Rare Earth’s extensive menu (which apparently is soon to grow even more) offers so much choice. During our visits, we customised the funghi pizza with some smoked tofu (smells and tastes fantastic), we salivated over the garlic stuffed mushrooms (I could have eaten two portions), and we really enjoyed the masala dosa. I also had a cheesy masala omelette (so tasty) for brunch and cheesecake for dessert - yum!

Although India is heaven for vegetarians, it is less so for strict vegans such as myself. It was thus a very pleasant surprise to find an actual vegan restaurant and store! The food is absolutely delicious and presentation gorgeous. The staff is exceedingly friendly, attentive and accommodating. I beg to differ with comments calling this eatery "cheap", however; by Indian standards, it is not, at least not for a budget traveler. The store itself has prices comparable to the typical American health food store. Also, be advised they do not accept non-Indian credit cards. Nonetheless, the quality and ethics of Rare Earth dictate the necessity of supporting this establishment! I shall certainly return.

Perfect place for all your vegan needs - Edit
Great little store with a huge variety of vegan products... Including small vegan brands from other cities across India that you won't find in regular supermarket chains. I buy my weekly supply of soy yogurt, oat milk and tofu from here. They have everything from plant milks, cheeses, ice creams, Indian sweets, chocolates, dessert, packaged food such as noodles, biscuits, snacks, etc.; cosmetics, household products, eco-friendly personal hygiene products, wallets, etc.
