Better than usual vegan food

Rather than just another standard vegan burger, Ransom seems to offer well considered vegan dishes of the day.

Pros: Nice food , Pleasant location, Friendly staff

Surprising

OK, so it's in a garden centre but kinda not. Worth a visit because of the options and numerous sugary treats too, displayed to entice!
I really enjoyed my burger. Go see for yourself, like me you may be suprised.

Pros: Choice of mains, Choice of cakes, Staff and decor

Amazing food and lovely place

Honestly, it's one of the best places on the island,so much choice! Healthy or otherwise. If you are a cake person, the range is superb with lots of vegan choices. It's on the bus route to St Helier, so it is very easy to get to. All the staff are really pleasant too. Would highly recommend a visit. Would give a 5 star, however, the app not allowing me as it's not fully vegan.

Pros: Lots of choice , Fantastic cakes , Amazing food, plenty of it!

Cons: None

Amazing cakes

You can choose between lots of vegan cakes. We got a slice of vegan carrot cake and the vegan chocolate - oreo brownie. Both were amazing, but the portions were very generous, and as it's very sweet, by the end it was almost too much. Only go there if you're hungry ! There was some options for breakfast and lunch as well but we didn't try those.

Pros: Lot of vegan cakes, Not too pricey, Large portion

Cons: Almost too sweet

Hidden gem

Three whole shelves of vegan cakes! A little bit pricey but the size of the cakes and the presentation made it worth the money😄
Vegan burger also very nice, but not anything special.

Pros: So many cake options!, Lots of savoury vegan options, Lovely presentation and service

Cons: Expensive

One of the best in Jersey for vegans/veggies

One of my favourites to visit when I'm in Jersey.
Excellent vegan and vegetarian options, including loads of vegan cakes and a vegan cheezeburger. Well worth visiting.
Book a table in advance as it gets quite busy.

Very great place ❤

We went there for lunch. They had so many vegan options available such as sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads. They also have about 15 different vegan cakes. And there is a vegan teatime.

Pros: Many vegan dishes and cakes and ice cream

Good vegan optons

Nice tea room, good vegan lattes and you can get scones with coconut cream if you order ahead (and black butter, which is actually a local type of apple butter, no dairy!). Was very busy on a rainy Saturday afternoon in June.

Hit and Miss

This is the only place in Jersey with an extensive Vegan selection on their menu. Hats off to them for making the effort, we certainly need more people to follow their lead over here - we are still way behind in providing tasty meals for Vegans and Vegetarians here.

I've had quite a few of the main meals on the menu, specials and the cakes.

In general, the quality is okay. This is a tearoom after all, and not a restaurant, but I still find it quite pricey.

We've had a few fails here - pork sausages on a kids vegan plate, I've been given omni carrot cake instead of a vegan one, despite asking for vegan ice-cream with it. And the response I got when I complained at the till was far from professional. We've also received a cow milk milkshake instead of a vegan one, which my tummy was far from happy with later on in the day. Again, a far from apologetic response.

I've stopped having cakes from here now too, as the texture is not right. They are very heavy, there is lots of icing all over them. They look fantastic in their fridge, but don't meet expectations. My omni friends say the same about their cakes too.... Maybe you guys could do a few less selection-wise, and do them really well? I victoria sponge doesn't need 5 layers, the balance of cake to icing is all wrong.

about 50% of the time, the sweet potato chips aren't cooked enough in the middle, 98% of the time, the salad still has grit in it.

I sometimes wonder if the staff have tasted their dishes before they send them out to the public... or maybe they think that because it's vegan, it doesn't need to taste good?

On the up side...

The tearoom is lovely, and I much prefer it after it's recent decoration. The service has improved sightly, and we have been forgotten about less than usual. I've had some really lovely meals there - a shepards pie that was so tasty it left me wondering if it was covered in cow butter (still wondering!), the stews have always been lovely and the soups too.
There is plenty of parking, and it is accessible for people in wheelchairs, with buggies, and dogs are welcome if they are well-behaved.

Pros: Many vegan options, Lovely Decor, Keen to experiment with specials

Cons: Hit and miss. Sometimes great, sometimes awful, Cakes are heavy, raw, full of icing, Don't deal well with complaints/concerns.

SO many vegan options!

While this is not a vegan cafe, it's so vegan friendly on account of one of the owners being in the v-gang! We went here THREE times during our stay on the island. The burgers are amazing (the ultimate cheese burger is the best, but the avocado and cumin is also great!) and we had afternoon tea too (which needs booking 24hrs in advance) - lovely sandwiches, cakes and scones with vegan cream!
Talking of the cakes... OMG. So moist! The coffee and walnut and the carrot cake are divine. But there's an entire fridge full to choose from! Prepare to loosen your vegan waistband!

Pros: vegan options very clearly marked on menu, so many vegan cakes, friendly staff

Cons: none!

Extensive and exciting vegan selection

Considering this place is not 100% vegan there are quite a few options. Way more than most places which are not actually veggie or vegan. Amazing satisfying and lush burgers with great vegan cheese, other options which sounded good but we didn't yet try, desserts, cakes, cream teas, ice creams, milkshakes...
If it was allowed I would give 5 stars (5 are only allowed for 100% veggie/vegan places)

Pros: Lots of options, Delicious food, Helpful and lovely staff

Lots of Options

Just had late lunch and was shocked to see about 20 meals clearly labelled as vegan. Vegan cheese is standard on quite a few meals! Portions were big and the cafe/restaurant has nice setting.

Pros: Portion size, Choices , Quick service

Cons: not 100% vegetarian, mistakes meaning food is not vegan on multiple occ, cakes taste of chemicals

fantastic food in such a beautiful location!

I loved this place from the moment I walked in. It is beautifully set up--very "farm-house". The cakes looked amazing, and they always have at least 4 cake options for vegans.

While they serve meat, I was not disappointed in their vegan options. The Mezze plate was more than enough for one person, or could be shared as a starter for two people. This place is perfect for mixed company as well!

The only downside was the service and the asking for gratuity at the end, but I was so pleased with the food, and don't mind calling the waiter over to our table a couple of times, so it didn't bother me too much.

Pros: food is amazing, awesome vegan chocolate cake , beautiful building

Cons: bad service by staff

LOADS of vegan options

There's a massive range of choice for vegans at Ransoms Tearooms, all clearly labelled on the menu - probably the most vegan friendly place to eat on the Island. There's also daily vegan specials and lots of vegan cakes every day. Everything we've tried has been really tasty. Thanks for offering so much for vegans Ransoms!

Pros: loads of options, tasty food

Well Loved Place

I've never been here but I have to say it's well loved by vegetarians and vegans alike and is totally worthy of being on your site. This seems to be the best restaurant in Jersey for vegans etc. Lots of choices, lots of decent desserts, the lady who makes the food sounds like a really nice person, a vegan would be spoilt for choice here. There's nowhere else like it. Would love them to open a place in town, have to get two buses to go there! I can't wait to visit. There is a Jersey vegan Facebook page where the lady tells you what she's making, she seems to have a genuine interest in making good food for vegans. We need more people like her!

Cons: A bit far away for some folk to get to
