It's hiden in a smal street - so make sure you have saved it in maps. But its definitely worth going there! We had our dinner there. Everything was made with love and just tasty. Untill now the best vegan dinner I had so far in japan :)

Best food in Japan - Edit
As struggling vegetarians, myself and my partner have found it hard in Japan to get good balanced food that wasn't overpriced.
Read moreThis place was both great value and delicious.
The place is cutely decorated, the menu has a good selection of options, including a special. My set was a great broad range of tasty foods and a neat little coconut dessert that kept me going all day long. We also ordered a bean curry which was tasty and full of vegetables.
The lady speaks no English but the menu is English and we had no problems.
There is a small shop as well for vegetarian food stuffs.
Pros: Delicious, Great value, English menu

Hidden gem - Edit
Ramuna cafe is very close to Nara park where I visited a massive Buddha, and went running with deer (they are very friendly being treated as sacred city mascots)
Read moreThe lady (owner?) of Ramuna is wonderful, patient, and cooks wonderful food. Eating the dinner she provided was like reading a refreshing of complex story for the pallet. I believe she was on her own that day, and had a large number of guests to attend but handled it all without even expressing a moment of pressure.

Delicious food and lovely quiet atmosphere - Edit
This lovely cafe is situated on a quiet side street near Nara Park, it's a perfect place to go for food to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. Food was absolutely amazing, myself and my husband both agree it's one of the best meals we have had since being in Japan. The host was friendly and her cooking was amazing. We will definitely return the next time we come to Japan.

Sweet vegan cafe near Nara Park - Edit
Read more in this vegan Nara guide: https://itravelforveganfood.com/vegan-nara-guide/
Read moreJust tucked away in a small street south of Nara Park, Vegan cafe Ramuna is a cafe to get away from the busy park and have a nice meal.
The cafe has traditional decor. There are seats both inside and outside. The owner lady is very sweet and welcoming. Also, it seems like the owner is a cat lover as there are many cat paintings in the shop (but no real cats though).
You can find assorted plates, bento set, and even western dishes like pizza and hot dogs here. The pizza has vegan cheese on top and is freshly baked. Although the taste is not particularly impressive, the price is very reasonable.
Another dish I tried is the matcha ice cream. It has some rice cereal and a spoon-shaped biscuit on top. It would be even better if it’s less icy.
Overall enjoyed this sweet little cafe. Be sure to check out their shop section to get some Japanese snacks to bring home.
Pros: All vegan, Affordable prices, Sweet and welcoming owner
Cons: Hazelnut milk is very watery

Bentobox - Edit
Everything in my takeaway bentobox was very delicious, especially the deep fried soy meat stuff. (Way better then the last one I had.) I got japanese sweet patatoe salad, a tomato and some cucumbers instead of the miso soup. Might have been a bit too much rice for me, personally.

Cute and tasty - Edit
Absolutely cute little café. We were the only customers by the time and the owner was a cute Japanese lady who was both a waitress and I think also the chef. We sat outside at a very pretty table and got free mandarine jelly. The vegan burgers were super tasty, but I recommend getting the set since they are a bit small on their own.

Tucked away café - Edit
Cute little cafe, kind of hard to find as it’s tucked away behind a larger building next to the park. Just follow the alley to the little garden-looking cottage, where it’s well sign-posted. Very cozy inside, with freshly baked cakes. Was quiet when we went, we were the only ones there. The vegan hot dog and vegan burger were both delicious and cheap (about 400 yen each).
