Lovely place, good food near the Park

Happy to find this place near Nara Park.
We got there 10 minutes before opening on a weekday and had no line, but it quickly started to form after opening.

Not sure if people know but there's more sits inside.

Good food! We had the burger and the bento box and icecream

Expect to wait

The wait was comically long (1.5 hours for only 3 groups/5 people in front of me), but the food was great and the owner seems nice. In the end, I’m not sure if it was worth the wait.

Be patient and you’ll be rewarded

Be prepared to wait for service here as it is one lady doing it all! We came when the restaurant was fairly full of patrons already and waited 30-40min to be seated, a couple people joined waiting behind us but I think gave up and left - however, im glad we stayed! All up waiting be seated, order and food to be cooked took just over an hour, but it was a reminder to slow down and be patient. The food was absolutely lovely, such a personal touch on everything, freshly cooked and delicate.

We had the karaage set, burger sets and Dan Dan noodles. Burger set was a highlight, so many elements to try and all delicious. You could tell how lovingly hand crafted each element was, and it’s a miracle how fast that one lady works to prepare it all!

In terms of ambience, it’s a beautiful and homely little place tucked away on side street, gorgeous dining area out the front and very cute interior with lots of cat decor (and two cute cats sitting out the back garden to top it all off)

Must visit destination when in Nara

Pros: Burger plate , Decor and ambience , Exceptional effort from owner

Cons: Long wait if you’re in a rush (though worth it!)

Encontramos este pequeño café en Nara, una comida excelente, considerando que son muy pocos los lugares con opciones vegetarianas y/o veganas

Great food

After visiting Nara Park we went here to have lunch. We ordered a meal and 2 sandwiches and it was really good. But plan for waiting time. The restaurant is run by only one person and that’s why you have to wait about 45 minutes to receive your meal. Anyways the food was great and the owner was really friendly. Loved the place.

Delicious, homemade food

If I could, I'd eat in Ramuna every single day!
The place was a little bit difficult to find but it was worth searching for! The cafe is run by just one lady who does everything by herself. The interior is super cozy and adorable.
I wanted to order the burger set but she was out of burgers, so i got the karaage bento and oh my, it was delicious. The karaage had the perfect texture and was super crispy. I loved the veggie tempura as well!
I wholeheartedly recommend, one of the best meals I've had in Japan!

Pros: Amazing food, Kind lady who runs the place, All vegan menu

Made with love

Very cute place with nice homemade food. Cozy vibes, kind owner and many cute cat accessories all around the café.

Our top pick would have to be the bento box, as the karaage was amazing!

One of the best meals I had in Japan

It's a small place run by a single person, so be prepared to wait a bit to be attended and served. The lady that runs the place is nice and I don't know how she is able to work so fast. When we arrived at opening time there were already around 7 people on queue, and we got our orders taken in like around half an hour and our food not very much after that.

The food was so good, one of the best I had in Japan, and she has quite a surprising number of options in the menu. I wish I could have tried more.

There's also some desserts and pre-made food (like curry, ramen, etc.) that you can buy there.

Superbe petit restaurant

Cons: Un peu d’attente

Amazing vegan food in Nara

Tiny place very close to the Nara park. The owner does everything by herself, so don't go there if you are in a rush.
We ordered the burger with greens, and added for 200yens the gratin with soy milk. We also ordered the "Buddha bowl" which comes with fermented brown rice, falafel and salad, and for 200yens added the miso soup.
For dessert we had a amazake soy milk soft icecream with mango sauce.
Everything was delicious.
The restaurant is small and filled with charm. You can tell the owner loves cats.
They also sell precooked vegan goods, pottery, bags...

Cute spot for vegan food in Nara! (Got take-out)

I went here May 21st 2024. I got to Nara early, so went to Ramuna for opening. About 3 people were lined up before opening outside. Our plan was always to get take-out, so once everyone else was seated we let the owner know we wanted to do take-out & she gave us the take-out menu. We got 2 soy meat kaarage bowls & 2 soymilk ice-creams.

Since everyone else was being seated and given menus, we were able to order first for take-out and only waited about 10-15 minutes for our order to be ready! She was super fast!

Since it's a small place and only 1 person is preparing the meals and running the show, once around 5-6 people are seated and ordering the wait becomes an hour long, so it's really good to get there for opening, or be ready for some waiting (It's a cute place and in a cute neighbourhood so there's no worries - but I do think it would be helpful to the owner to have a reservation system) But for anyone worried about having a waiting time, you should know ordering take-out is very easy at Ramuna and that is a secondary option!

As for the food, it was very yummy. My sister and I both really enjoy the kaarage bowl, it was a perfect meal to end our Nara trip. On the way back from Ramuna to the station we got to eat the soymilk icecream which had a nice flavour and was very creamy & smooth as well, so I'm rating Ramuna 5/5 stars! It was an enjoyable experience.

Pros: Yummy vegan food, Decent prices, Take-out friendly

Cons: Opens really late at 1PM, No reservation system, 1 hour wait times

Delightful stop to add to my Nara day 🦌

Food was delicious, I had the Dan Dan Noodles. I love that there was some consciousness raising literature in the shop, I haven't really seen much of that anywhere else. The person running the shop was doing an amazing job considering how busy it was and they were by themselves!

Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere

Cons: A little bit of a wait

Cozy and tasty

The cafe has a cozy atmosphere and is run by only one person - don’t come here if you are in a hurry! When we arrived, the place was almost full so we expected s long wait and the owner also told us that it will take a long time. We were positively suprised when it took only 20 minutes or so after we arrived to get our food!

We had the karaage and hamburger dishes, both were delicious - especially the hamburger! Such a lovely place, very much recommended!

Pros: Homey and delicious food, Cozy

Cons: Can be slow but it didn’t bother us at all!

Cute and cozy

Cute and cozy little place run by one woman. Luckily, we were the only ones there and ordered first. The food came out quickly, and it looked like the two orders after us came out quickly too.
The tuna sandwich was soooooo good 😭
Glad we found this little spot.

Pros: Cozy, Tasty

Cons: Wait time differs
