Delicious ramen! - Edit
This place is a must try. They do ramen so well! I got the garlic which was as expected, heavy on garlic! Even with a line the service and delivery goes so smoothly.

Tasty ramen but crowded - Edit
The ramen was delicious. I had the spicy and it was about a 4-5 on scale of 10 being super hot. Very tasty. The atmosphere is loud market place. Don’t think about having a relaxing dinner here. You’ll need to fight to find a table. All in all it was worth it.

Amazing broth - Edit
I love this place - the food is amazing and I like the portions very much. The broth is SO HEARTY and the garlic kills me ( in a good way).
Read moreThe only negative is that they use way too much plastic. I would like to see a more sustainable take out method or encouragement for people to bring their own containers. ( I know, it's inconvenient... )
Pros: GREAT BROTH, $2 parking at Grand Central Market, Good portions

AMAZING vegan ramen - Edit
I was never that much of a fan of ramen before going vegan because I always felt I was capable of making a similar dish at home for much cheaper, but I could never make ramen like Ramenhood! Their broth is so creamy and flavorful. I got the garlic ramen and it was only $10 for a giant bowl! Seating is limited because it is at Grand Central Market, you can get it to go, but I try to minimize my waste by eating there! The service was quick and friendly! I will eat here every time I am visiting LA. Ramenhood has set my bar high for vegan ramen

Tasty - Edit
I like that it's 100% vegan, but I'm not sure if it 100% fits my definition of healthy. I prefer a healthier kind of noodle than their "wheat" one. I think I would have been happy if they had the buckwheat noodles in stock. The egg doesn't taste like an egg, but it's still interesting. It is so loud and busy there!

Satisfied 😋 - Edit
Since I don’t live downtown, it took me a bit before I made it to Grand Central Market to check this place out. I’m glad I made it though - very tasty! I followed it by heading over to McConnell’s (also in Grand Central Market) for a cup of their vegan ice cream.

Excellent Food! - Edit
Our family of 5 was there this summer and most of us weren't hungry so we just ordered Ramen for the two little ones that were. The rest of us tried it, and ended up ordering more. It is absolutely amazing. I wouldn't spring for the "Egg" again though. It looks really cool, but I didn't find it to have much flavor. We are heading back to LA in a few weeks and Ramen Hood is definitely on our list!

Fantastic vegan ramen - Edit
It tastes great!! Like all places in Grand Central Market, it's sometimes difficult to eat here due to crowding, but the food is always worth it.

Seriously the best best best - Edit
This place rocks my world. I love it so much. Please go here. The cold smokey ramen and the spicy ramen are both amazing. Sitting at the bar is best and it always works out that a spot becomes available right when you need it. Remember the order first.

Awesome! Like you’re in Japan! - Edit
I’ve had late-night ramen in Japan and this reminded me of that. The atmosphere was awesome, a hot stove surrounded by workers who bring you your food at completion wherever you’re sitting along the open counter. It’s the closest I’ve gotten to Tokyo ramen shops since being back in the US. We had the garlic ramen, spicy ramen, Banh Mi Poutine, and the avocado toast (after reading a recommendation here.) The avocado toast is a fried rice patty with avocado creme topped with lettuce and avocado slices. It’s definitely legit. The spicy ramen was my favorite. I would get that again and again!

Very tasty ramen - Edit
I’ve missed ramen! It’s so exciting to find a place that is purely vegan and delivers an excellent ramen. Very tasty broth, and a great variety of flavors. I had the spicy ramen at the recommendation of the cashier, and I can’t wait to be back for more! (And to try other options, as I’ve heard from multiple people that they’re all great) Bonus: my omnivorous lunch partner tried it and loved it too. So it’s not just “good for vegan ramen,” but actually good-good! Edit: I went back and I tried the Avocado Toast side (which was more of an Avocado Rice Cake rather than toast), and it was one of the most delicious things I’ve tried in a while! Such a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend!

100% Vegan Ramen - Edit
I never thought I would eat ramen again. I’m so glad Ramen Hood exists. Has an authentic umami taste and the Vegg is such a nice touch. Just like non vegan ramen it is super filling, I was able to finish under half of it before I had to tap out. Leftovers held up too, tasted even better.

Nice but too crowded - Edit
Food, price and service are perfect. However, and although it is not their fault, the restaurant is located a very crowded market that inevitably affects the experience a little.

Delicious broth - Edit
The broth is absolutely delicious, however it lacks on toppings. The ramen comes with like 2 mushrooms and Bok Choy, and you can pay $2 for them to add the vegan egg. Avocado roasts are a must!! Located in the Grand Central Market.

Food is good but... - Edit
I enjoyed the food a lot here, as good vegan ramen is hard to come by because a lot of non vegan places usually don’t have good broth.
Read moreThe reason why this place doesn’t have 5 stars is because I thought the menu was kind of confusing. It said that every ramen came with the egg, but I didn’t know that I had to specify it during the order and was disappointed when I saw that my order didn’t come with it.
I thought the egg was nice for aesthetic purposes because it looks like an egg, but that’s it. I wouldn’t get the egg again. Since it was an additional $2 for this egg, I found this to be pricey and not worth it.
Overall I would come back, I’d just skip the vegan egg next time.
Pros: Pretty fast service
Cons: Limited seating

Worth a special trip - Edit
The food here is so good that we make a special trip to downtown LA just for it. The ramen is amazing and unique and I could eat it all day. All of the other items on the menu are great as well. Large portions and fresh, delicious food. There is a parking lot east of Grand Central Market that usually has spots. Can make the trip into a sightseeing trip - it’s right across from the Angels Flight and walking to many of the iconic downtown LA sites. The only downside is the large homeless/drug population downtown that sometimes makes walking around a little uncomfortable.

Amazing ramen - Edit
They had really, really good ramen. The sunflower broth is rich and creamy, and the noodles are nice and springy. The only negative is the vegan egg—I didn’t add much flavor or texture, so I don’t think it’s worth paying extra for. That said, it didn’t detract from the meal at all; the ramen is still divine.
Read moreTheir sides are also really good. We ordered the “tuna” takoyaki, which was unbelievable. The beets had a perfect silky texture, which was perfectly complemented by the crispy shell. We also really enjoyed the banh mi poutine. It had a good mixture of textures and flavors that came together nicely.
All in all an incredible meal. Definitely check this place out.

I got the garlic ramen and poutine fries. The fries were really good! The ramen was good but not amazing, a little pricy. I would go again if I was in the area but would try a different ramen.

Very dissapointed with this place. Everyone hyped it up so much. I ordered the spicy ramen and there was absolutely no spice in the broth! very upset. I must eat ramen that makes your nose runny and makes you cry or it grosses me out. I did get take out so they mightve mesed up my order. I probbly will go again and eat there to make sure it is very spicy.

Solid vegan option at historic location - Edit
It's hard to find a place to sit but that's not really Ramen Hood's fault, they've got a great spot at the historic Grand Central Market. They were out of vegan eggs when I got there but the ramen was good. Avoid getting it to go if you can, the to go container was really hot and not super good at keeping the broth from leaking.
