Very homey vegetarian/vegan Indian food place. I wasn't expecting much on our visit (our first choice for lunch happened to be closed the day we went, and this was nearby), but it turned out to be quite serendipitous! I asked the cashier for the specifically vegan menu items and she was able to list a few, but I'd definitely recommend distinguishing on the menu vegan vs vegetarian. Nevertheless there were plenty of options. I got the Chole curry with roti and my friend got the paneer butter tikka masala with garlic naan. The chole ($7) was great, not too salty and most importantly, not glistening with oil! Most Indian restaurants I've been too have gone overboard with the oil, so I was pleased with my dish. My friend couldn't finish everything- the naan itself was massive and could be a meal on its own! Well worth the $9 (garlic is an additional $1). The restaurant is very spacious and clean. They only have plastic utensils though, so be sure to bring your own if you go! All in all a great place for authentic home-style North and South Indian food that is also very open to people exploring new flavors and experiences.
We called today as we were excited to find a place that had vegan Naan (per reviews). We've been Vegan for several years now and have never found an Indian restaurant that was vegetarian to serve vegan Naan, Roti is generally vegan but not as good.
Sadly these items contain butter/ghee and are NOT Vegan (nor could they be made vegan): Naan, Vegetable Korma, all Dosas
This is a bit frustrating as the vegetable Korma stated it was in an almond sauce, but yet could not be made without butter.
the food here was okay. you could almost say the food was over spiced. it took away from the dish itself. they have plenty of vegan options which is nice. and you could tell the food was fresh too, it came out scalding hot. the employees are rude and rushing. garlic naan was dank.
Good Veggie Indian Food with Lots of Vegan Choices - Edit
Rajula's Kitchen is a great southern Indian restaurant. It's an all vegetarian eatery with plenty of vegan options, and since it's southern-style there's plenty of spice (heat!) in every dish.
