Unique place, chilled boho vibe

Photo taken after I’d tucked in! What a beautiful place, we had lunch here and soaked up the atmosphere with tea. Friendly staff and dog friendly! Clearly cared for and loved by the staff and customers, a very special treat x

Pros: Great atmosphere , Delicious food , Lovely vibes

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Vibrant

The restaurant itself was a hub of activity, when we arrived at lunchtime on a Sunday.

The staff were attentive and friendly.

Many of the dishes are vegan as standard, with all the rest potentially able to be made so.

A little veggie haven

Creative, tasty food in a large, lively cafe space. It feels like a lovely haven in the pretty town of Ashburton. Majority of dishes are veganisable with plenty of sweet options too.

Good food, friendly staff, great vibe

A popular restaurant, serving small plates for sharing in the evening.
It’s vegetarian but 6 of the 8 dishes offered were vegan, so we had good choices.

Pros: Atmosphere.. a fun place to eat with friends., Efficient service, food arrived quickly, Good vegan selection of dishes

Delicious food, great vibe

Had brunch at Rafikis this morning on a trip to Ashburton. Fantastic place! We arrived at 10, which is when the kitchen starts serving hot food, and not long after the place was packed! The venue is really funky, with shared tables, and there's a great vibe. Oh yes, and the food is great. I had Indian spiced pumpkin rosti, spinach and tomato sabji, carrot pickle and tofu and my partner had a Vietnamese-style tofu bahn mi baguette. Both were delicious and generous portions. Nice tea and coffee too. Will definitely return. Would also like to try the evening menu.

Pros: Great food, Decor is fun, Lively atmosphere

Soooo good!

Just been back for the first time since they've reopened and the food was excellent as ever. I had the vegan banh mi and my friend had the kimchi pancakes with tofu. Both excellent. Many options for vegans. I actually found it hard to choose. Local ingredients and lots of integrity in everything they do. Love this place! They're currently serving in the courtyard of the Ashburton Arts Centre next door to their premises and they've turned that space into a wonderful social gathering space. It really looks great.

Pros: lots of choices for vegans, locally and ethically sourced ingredients, attention to detail in the dishes

Surprisingly Excellent!

As a chef and restaurateur I’m easy going but hard to genuinely impress, the food here was very well cooked indeed, by someone who knows how to cook vegetables and balance flavours, spices and textures. We had a tagine type dish with cous cous and a creamy mushroom on sourdough dish (all vegan). Inspired me to want to make them at home.
Very tasty! Highly recommended and worth a detour.

Pros: Skilful cooking. , Tasty food. , Reasonably priced

Cons: A few more vegan breakfast items.
