this is such a fabulous spot with the best views over the valley! the vegan options are limited but i was so pleased to discover they had soya milk for coffees and a vegan lemon cake. perfect at the end of our walk.

The lemon cake is a great hiking reward after doing the Risco and 25 fontes levada walk, shame they don't do anything savoury but it was awesome to get a delicious vegan lemon cake in the middle of nowhere!

Wir waren in dem Gebiet 2 x wandern und sind danach jedes Mal in dem Café gelandet. Es ist wirklich idyllisch hier. Mitten in der Natur mit toller Aussicht und super Service. Wir haben uns 2 Mal den Zitronenkuchen gegönnt und ein Mal Mittag hier gegessen. Mein Mann hatte die Nudeln mit Pilzen und Spinat, extra ohne Sahne... Super lecker 😋 hätte ich im Nachhinein auch lieber genommen, weil vegan. Ich hatte stattdessen eine Tomaten Quiche (nur vegetarisch).

Vegan coffee & cake - Edit
It is super nice that they offer soy milk, because it’s the only place near the hiking route where you get coffee at all. I had a cappuccino with soy milk and the vegan lemon cake. However the coffee was not so good, the cake was tasty and the people were friendly.

Me and a couple of friends what is called a "levada" (basically a really long walk along the mountain) and found this little spot where they had a really nice vegan lemon cake.
Read moreYou might also want to consider taking a little bit of food to feed the birds that live around here, they are very cute and friendly.

A cafe in an idyllic location that offers plant milk for hot drinks, a rarity in western Madeira. We had two nice soya lattes with a lovely view, though it's a tourist hotspot so so everything is a bit pricey.
