Big and Beautiful Veg Restaurant - Edit
By far the largest and most beautiful Thai เจ (veg) "food stall" I've dined at...and I've dined at dozens all over Thailand. Excellent and large selection of dishes with a lovely indoor aircon dining room. Sadly the food flavor was only fair and making that even worse...served ice COLD. Not even room temp or outdoor temp, like all other Thai veg stalls, but refrigerated cold. If we ever try it again, will order "take away" and heat the food at home.

Positive surprise - Edit
Tasty meal. We were deceived by how it looks outside. Inside was very nice and they had a great menu. Food didn't disappoint.

Everyone says they're friendly. I haven't found that at all - Edit
Nice food but the pricing is all over the place. First time I went it cost me over 200 baht, second time it cost me 90 and now I just stick to rice and two mains for 50 baht. I've been eating in Jai restaurants for months and these are the most unfriendly people I've encountered so far. They don't say hello (in any language) they ignore me even if there's three of them standing there. Several times the owner has come from inside to take my money because the 3 girls are just ignoring me. I came back on here today to find somewhere else to eat because eating out should be a pleasant experience and I haven't felt welcome in this place, even after going in there ten times.

The ambience here was lovely, so clean and calming environment. Our food was piping hot and authentic. Each meal was bursting in flavour and taste was so so very good. Highly recommended. They also have hot pot as there was induction hot pot on most tables.

Lovely food and atmosphere, Google maps address isn’t correct - Edit
Raan Thummachart is a splendid and affordable Thai vegetarian restaurant. Amazing ambience, excellent variety of dishes, friendly staff. It’s just a bit hard to find.
Read moreThe Google maps address for this restaurant is not correct. The updated address is this one: 388/84 Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri 20150, Thailand
If you’re driving, Tantrarak school is a good landmark. Walk in the direction of the intersection that divides Paniad Chang Soi 3 and Sukhumvit 34 Alley and the restaurant will be a few shops ahead.
Kindly note the restaurant doesn’t have an English sign saying Raan Thummachart. Photos will help you find it. You’ll notice a grocery store / buffet outside with the restaurant inside.
Owner speaks English and the menu has a great selection of dishes. Besides a la carte, you can even get a hot pot and make it on your table. Kao suey (labelled as Northern Thai Curry Noodles on the menu) and thai green curry were our favourite dishes. The wontons looked good too.
The updated phone number for Raan Thummachart is 095 628 9659 (as of Dec 2022)

Hi, I have update the phone number and address but it is hard to know if the location is correct without being there. Perhaps you can check if it is and update the map marker if not? Thanks for your help :)

Hi, the address is correct. Thanks for updating. Just in case Google Maps / taxi apps have trouble recognizing the address, it’s a good idea to use Tantrarak school as a landmark.

The address is right, but the marker has been moved to the wrong place. I’ve just submitted the correct one and also asked to change the name to match Google Maps

Great food - Edit
My favorite dishes here are the Khao Soi noodles (50 ฿), and the kale and salted fish (70฿) Both are delicious! The wonton noodles comes with zero spice which you can add from the chillies at the table. The rice plus 3 mains is great value at 50 ฿. Popular with both locals and expats. Staff are friendly and speak a little English to help guide you to which dishes are spicy.

Here is how you get there. - Edit
Unless updates have been made ignore the map and information at the top of the page.
Read moreHere is information you will need to know if you want to go here.
1. No where is there a sign saying Raan Thummachat written in English so potential customers looking for that will not find it unless they read Thai.
2. The phone number listed is wrong it should be 038-716-350
3. The posted photo of the front of the restaurant is also misleading because many of the signs in the photo are no longer there. (I will post some updated photos.)
4. The posted hours of 9am to 8:30pm are wrong. We first went there at 7pm only to find that they were closed. When we went on another day we found out from the owners that the hours are > 6am to 5pm (closed on the 1st and 16th of every month.)
5. The google map saying Raan Thammachat is beside Raniadchang Alley 8 is WRONG. It is an empty lot beside Alley 8. The restaurant is much further north on Paniedchang road.
From Pattaya Klang road turn North on to Paniad Chang Road which runs along the east side of Big C extra. Check your odometer as the restaurant is 1.3 km from the turn. The restaurant is about 6 shops North of the intersection that divides Paniad Chang Soi 3 on your left and Sukhumvit 34 Alley on your right. (No signs marking the intersection so look for the Tantrarak school sign.)
Okay now that you are there.
Friendly service. Owner speaks English.
Inexpensive (4 entrees, 2 small soups and a water – all for 180B)
No menu > about 10 pans of food on display to choose from and have them heat up. And/or choose from one of 7 meals pictured on the wall above the cashier.
Number 7 is very delicious!!!!
Of the 4 dishes we had, only one we did not enjoy.
We will be back.
They sell various vegetarian groceries as well.
Pros: Friendly, closes early 5pm

Excellent - Edit
Great place.
Read morewhen I went there was close to 20 different hot plate dishes. Lots of other choices too. First time in Thailand I have seen fake egg!
Place was full of Thais, which means 2 things - very cheap and great flavour.
They also have a great frozen section full of meat subs that customers can buy.
Only downside is it's difficult to get to without your own transportation.
Pros: Very cheap, Good taste
Cons: Location
