Food is DEFINITELY worth the wait - Edit
Whoever doesn’t like this place doesn’t understand what it means to be truly invested in wholesome, quality vegan food in a laid-back atmosphere. Let me start by saying that I’ve been to both the Plum Bistro (their sister spot in Seattle) as well as Quickie Too on multiple occasions over the course of 6 years.
Read moreTrying essentially everything on the menu, I have never been disappointed. The food is hearty, but healthy. The smoothies are crafted with local deliciousness and taste AMAZING. And I understand that quality takes time; the wait isn’t even that long unless you’re used to fast food or corporate-restaurant meals (yuck!). They tend to get busy, but it’s because of their popularity!
I can only speak for myself, but I’d rather wait on a delectable, flavorsome, mouthwatering meal than have the quality of my food sacrificed for the sake of my impatience. That’s why I come here!
Pros: Smoothies are delicious & affordable :), unique take on vegan soul foods, friendly elevated atmosphere with great service!
Cons: Tastes so good, nothing compares!

One Star. - Edit
I would not ever come back to this establishment. Other reviews say that the food is worth the extremely bothersome wait times, however, I can personally say that my food was not worth that. Whatever you do, DO NOT get the smoothies. They taste like flavor powder and are WAY too small for the 8 dollar price. The food is mediocre and the service/quality is just not worth it. There are many alternative vegan places that deserve more attention.

First Vegan Restaurant Experience - Edit
This was the first solely Vegan restaurant I visited and from that point on, it was difficult to find other places to live up to it's expectation. Amazing handmade burgers, sauces, and desserts that tantalize even the most Meat loving individual: bye bye black bean burgers. Be forewarned, you might become addicted to their food, so skip the belt and bring some comfortable leg wear.

We love Quickie Too!! - Edit
Very laid back restaurant. You can jam to the reggae tunes while you wait for your food. the Mac and Yease was off the hook delicious!! We always order our own because there's no way we'd be sharing. The sweet potato fries were excellent. They only give a tiny amount of ketchup... but didn't really need it because the SPF were good on its own.

Pros: Mac and Yease, Did I already mention the Mac and Yease?, It's all Vegan. So many yummy choices!!
Cons: Mac & Yease could be a bigger plate. So GOOD!, Service is slow... but worth it!!, Sometimes not reliable open hours.

Food was amazing but service is slow. Come with someone you enjoy talking to and when you’re not in a rush. The food is totally worth the wait though.

Worth the meh service. - Edit
I love this place. Super delicious every time I’ve been. I have to second the fact that the service is... meh. I don’t mind the wait for tasty food, especially because it’s all homemade. But the servers make it seem like they don’t really want customers. I don’t expect cheer, but a little less scowling and eye rolling wouldn’t hurt. Will always return. Totally worth it.

Fabulous! - Edit
We had the Fish dinner and like Chicken fried steak one. They were great! Loved it. The meat had a great consistency and very tasty. The vegan Mac and yease was great. Better than a lot of geese finger parts I have eaten before. The staff was friendly. Nothing bad to say.

Tofu, tempeh, seitan on one vegan menu - Edit
Excellent, extensive 100% vegan menu. To review options, go to the allmenu website. Quesadillas, tacos, sandwiches, burritos and burgers are offered tempeh, tofu and seitan options with unique sauces. The restaurant also sells the in-house made tofu, tempeh and seitan separately functioning like a deli. Good service in a fun, casual setting. Bathroom is located outside and a significant navigation factor through a parking lot and around the building’s exterior for anyone handicapped or with accessibility issues.

It is so obvious this place is filled with love. I am grateful for a vegan restaurant in Tacoma! The food is delicious! There is a great variety to choose from. Prices and wait times are worth supporting a local vegan business.

Our food took literally one hour to come out, but it was delicious. Just don't go if you have plans for afterward since it might be a while til you get out of there.

Disappointing - Edit
I had such high hopes for this place. The reviews were good and their instagram made everything look delicious! Sadly, after eating there, I don't know where the hype is coming from.
Read moreIt took FOREVER to get our food after we ordered, the server was rude, and the food itself.... Well, it just wasn't good. Maybe I've been spoiled. It was greasy, and the flavors were strange and bitter. Even the bread wasn't very good, it was strangely sweet. The food is too expensive to be that bad. The bathrooms were also gross and dark.
The one positive to this place was that the lady at the counter was very sweet. We will probably not be back.
Pros: 100% Vegan, Largely Organic, Family Friendly
Cons: Expensive, Cramped, Food Sucked

You better be prepared to wait, but it is 100% worth it. This is one of the best vegan restaurants I've ever been to, with tasty home cooked food that you would expect a grandparent to make.

Worst service ever! - Edit
The service here is beyond bad. I went to the Sunday brunch with my boyfriend which I was really excited about as it is one of two or three places in Tacoma that serves vegan breakfast food. We arrived and the waitress greeted us very warmly. The place was much busier than I have ever seen it in the past but it still only amounted to 8-10 tables of patrons. After we were greeted and seated ourselves we waited at least 15 minutes for the waitress to come to our table to take our order which is just unacceptable. She also took orders from customers who arrived after us before she took ours. Our drinks arrived 5-10 minutes later and our waitress told us she was going to get our muffins (came with the food plates we ordered). 20 minutes later and we still have no muffins but people who came in after we did had theirs. Our waitress finally came within earshot of our table and we asked for our muffins. Instead of offering an apology she just told us “of course”. 10 minutes after this conversation she finally dropped off our muffins. While eating our muffins I noticed that a couple who came in after us were served their food. About 10 minutes later I saw another table get served that came in after us and not too long after that another table. The entire time we were in the restaurant our waitress was in the dining area but not being attentive to anyone or anything. You would think at some point during the hour we had been sitting there that she would have noticed that we still had no food and people who arrived way after we did had theirs. After the third table of people who were seated after us were served food we asked the waitress where our food was. She said that she would go check. I see her looking at the tickets that are behind the counter and then check tickets in the kitchen but she didn’t ask any of the kitchen staff what happened to the ticket or explain to any of them that they had customers who never got their food. She comes back to our table and says she knows that she gave them the order but they don’t have it. And that was it! She offered no solutions and no apology. Any restaurant that cared about their customers would have most likely comped our food and expedited our order (this I’m pretty sure they are incapable of, the place should be called slowies). After we found out we had been waiting for food for an hour that wasn’t coming and would probably have to wait an hour more to get our breakfast we just got up and left.

Great food, so-so service - Edit
If you're wanting healthy vegan food, this is not your place! But, the food is amazing! Awesome sweet potato fries! I had the Ruben sandwich and soooo good. The restaurant itself is a little "we'll worn" and the employees are indifferent...but I'd go back for some "comfort" food!

Truly Special! - Edit
Wow. Just Wow! What a special place this is. I love the cool scene, music, posters on the wall and chill diner vibe. The food is so amazing! How awesome is it, we can get 100% vegan Jamaican/Soul food?!
Read moreI've only been once, but I'll be back...many....many more times.
I had the Jamaican Wrap, lunch portion. It was perfect. The flavors were bold yet, not over the top. The slaw inside was crunchy and the perfect complement to the Jamaican Spiced Tofu. Drool! The beans and rice on the side, was straight out of Jamaica, just what I remember.
My husband had the TLT, which he LOVED! He also got the Mac & Yease....He said it was the BEST he has EVER had! Which, makes me a bit envious, because I thought mine was the best?! Hahaha!!
Thank you for making a truly special and delicious Vegan Restaurant. I can't wait to bring non-vegans here so they can see what they are missing! Oh, and I bought a pound of the Jamaican Spiced Tofu to bring home. She sells her Tofu, Seitan and Tempeh that she uses in all of her dishes.
Pros: VEGAN, Jamaican, Soul Food/Special
Cons: No restroom
