Sensational tastes at great prices, no MSG - Edit
A cosy little cafe to watch the goings on in Gootama Street. My partner had mie Goreng & I had rice noodles, which came with tempe manis, both were 10/10. We had fresh young Coconuts, which were huge. Meal portion sizes were generous & there's lots of vegan choices. We stayed on after we ate & just enjoyed the foot & scooter traffic, and had a fun chat with the happy chef. We will definitely return.

Nice cheap warung - Edit
Lovely staff, great location. Had the gado gado which was nice, but the peanut sauce needed some lifting and was a little on the bland side.

Delicious! - Edit
We ate at Puspa’s on our first night in Ubud. They had several vegan options and we really enjoyed what we ordered (especially the kung fao tofu which had a real kick to it!) Definitely see ourselves going back to try some of their other dishes!

YOU MUST GO!!! - Edit
Seriously. I lived in Ubud for the better part of a decade, and there is not better local food around. You MUST order the jackfruit rendang. You will not taste better - maybe anywhere in the world. Everything is cooked in coconut oil (other Warung’s sold out to bimoli, horrible inflammatory palm oil) long ago. She is legit and amazing and seriously, you would miss out way too much if don’t go.

Decent Balinese food - Edit
Good range of food on the menu for vegans. The jackfruit rendang was nice but wish there was veggies in it too. The beef rendang came with veggies and rice, but the jackfruit version had to be ordered separately. Nasi campur was nice but not the best version I've had in Ubud. Corn fritters were good.

We had the vegan nasi campur which was very good and the corn fritters as well (be careful the sauce is extremely spicy)

Ok food but terrible service - Edit
The food my girlfriend and I had was good but had an issue ordering because of my food allergy to nuts. Told the workers twice and they nodded in agreement that they understand but when the food came out, it had nuts. After asking them to replace it, another worker just removed it by hand from the top...guess they don't understand cross contamination but that is ok.

Enjoyable - Edit
I enjoyed my meal, though coulve used a but more flavour, the jackfruit rendang was more like a soup and the fried rice wasn't so flavorful. Thought the food was enjoyable.

Good corn fritters - Edit
I tried the jackfruit dish after reading positive reviews but was totally disappointed, I didn't like it at all. It was a bowl of slightly spicy jackfruit, not a lot going on flavor wise. The corn fritters were a tasty snack though and the team working were sweet.

A little too oily for my taste - Edit
I had the mie goreng made vegan, it comes with a small portion of fried tempeh. Portion size was okay, but it was waaaayyy too oily (and yeah, it’s coconut oil but that doesn’t make it any better) and not reaIly that flavorful. I also had the Kombucha, which wasn’t that great neither , too vinegary even with the lots of ice they put in.

Would give it 5 stars if I could - Edit
A small little spot offering traditional Balinese meals. Everything on the menu can be vegan as you can choose if you would like meat or vegetables/jackfruit/tofu/tempeh. The food is tasty, we especially like the fried noodles (comes with tempeh and veggies). The rice portions can be a little small for a western appetite but prices are so cheap that this is totally fine. Staff are very friendly and happy to help.

Best Nasi Goreng in Town - Edit
Loved the Nasi Goreng and especially the smoothies! The food is very cheap but for me the portions were too small so I had to order two dishes. Try the Sexy Ruby and Exotic Purple Smoothie to your Nasi Goreng or Mie Goreng! Would give five stars if possible.

Great spot! - Edit
Food was delicious although portions were smaller (fine for me because I prefer not to eat 5lbs of rice for dinner!). Menu prices were great (30k for Gado Gado), and the service was awesome! The place is small amd gets packed quick but it makes for a friendly vibe!

Small local place serving mostly Indonesian staples. Clearly marked veggie options. The mei goreng was delicious, and they even tossed in some fried tempeh for crunch! Ask for their homemade hot sauce, it was fire. Iced coffees were good too!

Lovely lil warung - Edit
I always come back here each time I visited Ubud.
Read moreThe food here is actually very basic for Indonesian tastebuds, but somehow I love it. They don't use any MSG so the taste is rather bland for most Indonesians but they play it well with fresh produces and spices. Their (veganized) nasi campur is my fave!
Always full house during dinner time, you better come early as the space is pretty small.
Pros: Tasty, Very Affordable
Cons: Small Place, Serves meat

disappointed - Edit
unfortunately our visit here was disappointing. first to the good: delicious kombucha, low prices and good service. unfortunately the food was not at all convincing. gado gado was just some cold vegetables with a little peanut sauce and my jackfruit court almost tasteless and the jackfruit totally boiled. moreover they were mini portions. afterwards we went to another restaurant because it wasn't enough. next to us there were a couple who had already eaten here several times and said that the portions were usually at least twice as big. the restaurant was totally full and maybe that's why they were overwhelmed. unfortunately we can't recommend it.

Great option with street view - Edit
I tried nearly all the dishes at this little warung and it always delivers. It is a good option if you want something good and cheap, it's in a street surrounded by tourist places with higher prices so this one stands out. You have direct view on the street, which is always entertaining. All the meat options can be veganized. Sometimes the rice portions are a bit small and you might want to ask for more (for which you will have to pay extra). Quick service.

Jackfruit Curry! - Edit
Puspa's warung is a traditional style Balinese eatery offering MSG free vegan and raw vegan options.
Read moreAlthough the place itself is not vegan, the extremely kind owner, Puspa clearly understands the vegan principles and uses separate cookware to prepare the non-veg dishes.
I'd highly recommend trying their famous jackfruit curry that they serve with red rice, the meat experience is 10/10 on that one, it's like eating chicken and the curry itself is very flavorful, rich.
For others being interested in the local cuisine, there's Gado Gado, Satay and Nasi Campur being served, all vegan of course. I'd give five stars, but HC won't let me as the restaurant is not fully veg.
