Great food - Edit
We stopped in for a quick early dinner on our way through town. They have a good mix of healthy and “junk” food options. My husband loved the Rainbow burger and fries. I ordered the Breakfast Burger and kale slaw. Everything was delicious. My only complaint was my husband’s food and the slaw came but then three to-go orders were filled before my burger arrived so my husband was already done eating before my burger arrived.
Read morePros: Wide variety of options, Junk food options, As well as fresh healthy options
Cons: Food did not all come to the table at once , Seemed to prioritize to go and pickup orders , Only two designated parking spots

Our least favorite vegan breakfast - Edit
Pretty much everything we had was bad and not fresh. I hate giving bad ratings to vegan spots but the chai tea was undrinkable, all the food tasted previously frozen then microwaved. The chik’ waffles was especially bad. Worst vegan spot we’ve been to - I hope they limit their menu and make things fresh and better. We came midday on Saturday so idk if it’s just a bad time.

Still thinking about that waffle - Edit
Stopped here on a road trip and got a strawberry and cream waffle which was DELICIOUS. The only thing that would have made it better was if they had real maple syrup instead of the maple flavored stuff. My son said he didn't like the mac and cheese but he's three and that meant more for me. He did enjoy the fries though.

Cons: no real maple syrup, no kids meal

Great vegan option in NW Durham - Edit
My new go to place for the plant-based comfort food I would feel guilty to cook at home. The vindaloo chik’n is flavorful without being oppressively hot!

Large menu, good vegan food - Edit
I ordered the gold bowl with almond butter, goji berry, and strawberry toppings. Reasonable price at $9.75. It was very flavorful and I enjoyed the bowl.
Read moreOptions other than smoothies and smoothie bowls include breakfast foods (sandwiches, waffles), Indian lunch items, and classic lunch items (chicken sandwich, burger, etc.).
Parking: Limited spots that are unmarked and available for all businesses in the shopping center. Two spots reserved for takeout only for Pure Vegan Cafe. If you’re patient a spot may open up in the parking lot.
I would come back!
Pros: Friendly staff, Variety of menu items, Reasonable prices
Cons: Parking is limited

Large menu and all-day breakfast - Edit
The menu is large and diverse, so anyone can find something to enjoy. Options range from healthy to indulgent, and include cold-pressed juices, all-day breakfast, and smoothies along with Indian and American comfort foods. Service was great and food came quickly. Food was good, not amazing, and we both enjoyed our meal. We would definitely come again.

Indian food just okay - Edit
I feel like I set myself up for failure. I ordered Indian food from a non-Indian food establishment (what makes it even sillier is that there is a supposed amazing Indian restaurant essentially next door). The food was just alright. Not terrible but lacking the good, deep Indian flavors. I was even told to order their “chicken” based meals and I didn’t listen. I would like to think that their non-Indian entrees are wonderful but I haven’t tried any yet. I would go back but it would be with suspicion.

The Indian food is particularly good, but everything is delicious and fresh. They have tons of gluten free options as well, and the owner is lovely. Highly recommend!

tasty stop - Edit
Happy to find pure vegan cafe while my family and I were on a road trip up I-85. Met the owner while there. Her dedication to the restaurant and her strong work ethic were clear. Very friendly and helpful too. Same with the other worker that was present.
Read moreWe ordered the house burger, chickn English muffins, sausage and vegg English muffins, smoothies, fries, and sweet potato fries. All the food was ready in a reasonable amount of time for such a large order.
Every thing was top notch, although the sweet potato fries weren’t as crispy as we would have preferred.
Will stop here again while traveling and would highly recommend it to others.
Pros: Tasty food, Not far off the highway, Friendly staff
Cons: Sweet potato fries could have been crispier

Subpar Fast Food quality, Disapointing - Edit
Chick'n burger patty was oily and bland, and the bread smelled old and stale, the sauce and the few toppings lack any kind of flavor.
Read moreLoaded fries, on the other hand, tasted like a overly sweet tomato paste mixed with overwhelming amount of paprika. The cheesy sauce on top didn't taste like anything either.
Pros: Minority Women Owned, Great variety, One of the only 100% vegan restaurant in Durham
Cons: Chick'n burger, Loaded fries, Bland

All vegan, super tasty - Edit
Really glad to have this in Durham. Ate here twice in one week. The Golden Latte was divine and the Southern Comfort is what I would consider an elite-level breakfast sandwich. The space is nice and parking is a breeze. Very nice staff but unfortunately seemed a bit short-staffed when I was there and the food took longer than expected, but worth the wait! I look forward to going back and trying more items on the menu -- it's very extensive with lots to choose from, all vegan!

Simple and easy - Edit
Loved this cute little spot. Got a chicken buffalo/ranch chicken sandwich. And wonderful Mac and cheese. This Mac and cheese was (for me) a one to one replica of a standard kraft Mac and cheese out of the box. With a bit of a touch of lemon and pepper to make it a bit more sophisticated than a kraft m&c. Absolutely loved it though and gave me that nostalgic flavor. Chicken sandwich was a classic. No issues but nothing completely out of the box that lifted it up further. I wanted to try the Chana masala wrap but I'm not as adventurous as I should be. Definitely if I end up back here next time I will try it.

Great vegan place! - Edit
I just moved to NC from Minnesota. Minneapolis has great vegan options, but nothing like this! I love that they have a mix of food- from southern classics to salads and juices. There really is something for everyone! I had the chicken and waffles when I came to visit in April. Since then, I have tried their biscuit sausage sandwich (yum), the samosas, and their chik’n wrap. The chik’n wrap was a great option for lunch. Longer to dine in, but I’ve found that picking up food doesn’t take too long.

Something for everyone - Edit
Food was great! And, somehow, my 74 year old non-vegan grandma had a great time. There's more to eat than just fake meat, but if that's your thing you'll still love it here! For dessert, I recommend the banana nut muffin and my grandma says the Mango Tango is the best smoothie she's ever had.
