Quick, healthy (ISH) food

Handy for a quick breakfast. Not too overpriced, given location. I ordered porridge and was asked what milk I'd like upfront.

Service was quick, although would happily have waited an extra 30 seconds for it to be warmer!

Would go again for quick, fresh food in a pinch, but nothing special.

Pros: No charge for alt milks, Lots of choices and very well indicated

So many vegan options!

Pure is a chain restaurant offering coffee, tea and light meals. It is one of the lesser known restaurants and after visiting I don't understand why. The amount of vegan options is overwhelming! I visited for breakfast and had a choice of porridge, sandwiches and British savoury breakfast (mushrooms, beans).

I went for the "anti-oxidiser" porridge with blueberries and toasted almonds. It was a lot smaller than expected and it had the weirdest blueberries I've ever seen (were they peeled?). Nonetheless, the taste was good. And so was my oat milk based chai latte.

Because of the small portion I also tried the vegan almond croissant. Since croissants are usually made with butter, this was a rare chance to eat one. However, this is not a standard croissant. While it doesn't look like it, it is very sweet and has the nutritional value of a sugar bomb.

After this first experience I recommend to give Pure a chance. This particular restaurant is located near the entrance of London Bridge station (outside, not inside the station) next to a McDonalds. It is also open in the weekend, unlike many "Pret A Manger" restaurants (the main rival) in the same area.

Pros: many vegan options, reasonable prices

Cons: beware of the sugar content of the vegan croissant
