Nice Staff, Tasty Food - Edit
4/5 stars. The food is way better than most Indian food I’ve had in UK, which is over salted and lacks depth of flavor. This has better flavor and isn’t too salty. Although it is a bit oily… that’s my main gripe. But it’s hard to avoid that here.
Read moreWhat stands out along with the great flavor of this food is how kind and accommodating the people who work here are. I’ve called and just asked for a vegan curry type of thing with spinach as the main base and they do it and it tastes really good.
This is definitely one of the better Indian spots in Glasgow.
Pros: Tastes Good, Fair Prices, Kind Staff
Cons: Oily

This is not the naan I was looking for.... - Edit
It never occurred to me that you could do a garlic naan badly, but then I went to Punjabi in Ibrox. The traditional dish, of which I have more than a passing acquaintance, came out with so much garlic on it that a blob of about a tablespoon of garlic paste slipped off the naan and onto the table. And when I say "blob", I don't mean some oil with garlic in it.... it was pure garlic paste. We had to scrape it off the bread there was so much of it. my sinuses have been well and truly cleared out so I guess that's something.
Read moreWe asked for vegan dishes and they obliged, confirming that they weren't using ghee as the oil. They were OK but not tasty enough to be perceived above the baseline garlic of the naan.
The decor is drab and worn, and it didn't appear that clean. I would not eat there again.

Lots of delicious vegan options, exceptionally friendly owners and staff - Edit
Punjabi has become one of my favourite Indian places to eat in Glasgow, and it's certainly the best in the area. They don't label vegan dishes on their menu, but the people working here are super friendly and know about veganism and everything that goes into their dishes. Dal Makhani with (a gigantic) Nan bread is the dish I keep coming back for, but everything else I had was fantastic as well, and quite cheap for a restaurant meal (about £7 for a dal or curry, and £1-£3 for sides like roti, rice or nan). Portions are large and I usually have leftovers to eat next day.
Read moreYou wouldn't think from looking at the restaurant from the outside that it is that good, but it is worth travelling for, and definitely an amazing option for locals or after a walk in Bellahouston park!
