Excellent but limited

Puesto serves high quality tasty dishes. The guacamole is fabulous as are the mushroom and verduras tacos (minus any cheese). Past these options vegan is tough (vegetarian is easy).
Excellent margaritas and vibe !

Pros: Great food, Great service , Great ambiance

Cons: Need reservations, especially in summer months , Pricey, Limited vegan options

Verduras bowl was delicious

It may not be strict vegan, but they had mushroom and miced veggie options.

Pros: Fresh blue corn tortillas, Great tequila menu

Limited but delicious vegan options

They put butter in their rice and cheese on everything BUT made me a vegan version of the verduras bowl minus rice and cheese that was delicious. The guacamole is also killer.

Limited vegan selection; quality food

When we visited in Oct 2021, they were using butter to cook their rice (they use rice in their burrito and on their veg salad I think).
They were willing to change menu items around to make them vegan (e.g., leave out the rice or cheese).
The tacos were good.
Lots of outdoor seating.

It was central La Jolla (not far from the beach), so it was not inexpensive.

BTW, there is not a plant-based menu available at the time we were there.

Pros: Outdoor dining, Good tacos - 2 solid vegan options

Cons: Butter in the rice, Limited menu options

Highly Recommend

Delicious, gourmet Mexican food at great prices considering how much good you get.

Unfortunately, you have to know to ask for a vegan menu. They don't offer it to guests. So if you just walked in off the street you'd have no idea these options existed. Why do restaurants do this? Makes no sense to me. That said, the food, atmosphere and staff are amazing. Thumbs way up!

Pros: Friendly Staff, Delicious food, Creative vegan menu selections

Cons: Vegan Menu is "secret"
