Good lunch - Edit
All the foods were good. Cream of fennel soup was yummy. My family liked persimmon lemonade.

Great place - Edit
Ironically my wife didn't love the black bean party they make in house, but everything else was great. Fried green tomatoes, oyster mushroom roll, coffee drinks, breakfast. All bangers. I guess the only warning is that the patty might not be for everyone.

Delicious and fast - Edit
I appreciated all the clearly labeled vegan options on their menu, and the food was delicious. If you get fries, ask for the vegan version of their special sauce.

Delicious!! - Edit
I love this place and it’s very convenient downtown. I had the pesto fresco and fries and they were BOMB! I think my only issue is that they’re so good that they’re always super busy, so it’s a bit of a wait. But worth it!!

Pretty Good - Edit
Kidding, the fast food here is excellent. I had the spicy chick’n sandwich which was very tasty. The fries are also great, and the chopped salad alone was worth the price of admission. The dining area is sparse so have a Plan B (eg your car) to eat your food.

Good sandwiches and fries - Edit
Family from Santa Cruz recommended we go here to eat since we are vegan. Food was good, but I think we were expecting a sit down place. Not much seating inside or outside. Seems more like a grab and go type place. But again, food was at least good - but I wouldn’t say it was good advice!

Excellent Plant Based Comfort Food - Edit
OMG, so happy that Pretty Good Advice has opened up a Santa Cruz location, meaning I don't have to go all the way out to Soquel anymore to enjoy their amazing plant-based burgers!
Read moreSince they've opened, I've gone three times with twice in just a week. They are a burger/sandwich shop with fries, salads, and desserts when available. All of their burgers are vegetarian and use a black bean/soy patty base, and everything can be made vegan upon request if it isn't already designated as such.
I've tried their PGA Burger and their Spicy Chick'n Burger ($9 each), along with a regular size side of fries with their vegan ranch. The sandwiches were delicious each time I've had them. Although a bit on the smaller side, they're still great and one of the cheaper spots for a plant-based burger in town. What's cool is that they also offer tiny mandarins when you pick up your food - free of charge!
There is very limited seating inside so you are better off grabbing takeout and finding a public bench or sitting at Abbott Square to enjoy your meal.
This is truly a great addition to Downtown Santa Cruz and especially to the vegan food scene since losing a couple of big namers in the last few years. Thank you PGA! Keep on rocking.

Fun place! - Edit
I was so excited when I heard that Pretty Good Advice was opening a downtown Santa Cruz location.
Read moreLike the Soquel location, the menu board uses fun magnet letters for their signage. The restaurant has a fun vibe. There are straight-up vegan options and other options labeled that they can be made vegan.
On today's visit I had the veganized. version of the Chick'n Sandwich. It was tasty. We got an order of fries on the side which came with a vegan ranch option. We also got to taste the banana soft serve which was very good.
The only bad thing is that I forgot to take a photo to post on HappyCow so I will have to go back soon!
Pros: Fun vibe, Tasty food
Cons: Very little seating
