Only five months old and already busy. Heather and Josh have put together a fantastic coffee shop and restaurant. The coffee is outstanding and the food is delicious. You won’t want to miss this place.

Wonderful All-Vegan Restaurant

What a welcome find for our last day in New Zealand! Everything in the restaurant is vegan so the choices for lunch were many. We settled on the Blue Collar Breakfast as well as The Pumpkin One. Both were flavored with an imaginative mix of herbs, spices and combination of select vegetables. Both dishes came with tofu scramble but with different spices to complement the rest of the dish. The smoky stewed beans that came with the Blue Collar Breakfast were devine! I could easily just eat a bowl of those and be perfectly happy they were so good. The kitchen closes at 2:30 so the choices are limited to cabinet food thereafter, which also looked great, but we didn't get any since we're leaving the country. But we did indulge in some peanut butter chocolate cake which they warmed slightly. Oh my!! The staff was very helpful and knowledgable about the food ingredients making it easy to minimize onions and garlic in my food choices. Yum! PS: we also got a brownie which was boxed so we could eat it the next day... oh so good!!

Pros: Everything is vegan.

Cons: Parking- check down side streets

Really nice place.

This place was really nice and had so much tasty stuff to chose from. The reason I can't give it a 5 star review though, is because the acai bowl didn't really taste much at all really. They must have used a bunch of ice which would explain the lack of taste. The donut I had was delicious. I would definitely go back again. Just not for the acai bowl.

Pros: Great place with lots of options.

Amazing food great people

This place rocks, the food was so good we went twice in a 3 day period. The staff are so lovely and helpful and the food is of a high quality. The cooked breakfasts were really good, smokey beans amazing! We got take away cakes etc the next day and the cream filled buns were so amazing as were the savory items. Our son was so pleased when we arrived with a big box of vegan delights from portershed for his lunch. I felt it was worth the money and the atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. I will be going to Portershed every time we visit christchurch. You guys rock vegan food!!

Pros: Awesome staff, Comfortable surrounds, Value for money

Yum!

This place has a great range of food on their menu. I tried a cinnamon scroll, lemon cream donut and off the main menu I tried the scrambled tofu breakfast option whilst I was in Christchurch. Was definitely one of my favourite cafes while I was there.

Pros: Wide Range of Choice, Delicious Deserts

Cons: It's a popular place so grab a table :)

Too good!

My eyes were too big for my belly and I ordered far more than I could manage, so had to stay ages to finish everything haha!

Delightful place- staff are friendly, inviting cafe vibe and great food on par with any vegan cafe we've been to in big cities like London/ NY etc. I love the fact the place doesn't really say anywhere it's vegan and it's just your everyday, decent yummy food where you can get healthy food but also donuts and thick shakes (not like some vegan joints which are just falafel and raw slices...no thanks!).
Their daily soup and bread was divine, as was their salted caramel thickshake...yum yum yum.

Sad we only got to visit twice, hope to return in the future!

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing!

Beautiful!....

We made a visit here for breakfast on a long weekend getaway in Christchurch. It did not disappoint! It's a beautiful cafe with warm, friendly staff serving amazing food.

The variety and quality of food here is the best vegan breakfast dining experience I've had. Everything we tried was delicious.

We tried the Blue-Collar Breakfast & the Hash Avo Mash for our mains. Both with lovely flavors and generous portions. The home-made spicy baked beans & tasty scramble were a real highlight. The cheesy-hash was perfect!

The coffee was great and I tried the Apple tart and Citrus slice for dessert. (Dessert at breakfast is allowed when on holiday!). A soft, buttery base on the tart with strong apple filling - delicious. The citrus base was perfectly tangy - I loved it too!

We got 2 of the cookies & cream doughnuts to take with us and they were beautifully boxed to carry away. When I ate them several hours later they were divine! Seriously good! ~ These really are a 'must-do' if you have a sweet tooth!

It's a warm, tastefully decorated cafe on a busy road with a real, cosy vibe to it. Very clean, and comfortable. Highly recommended if you get the chance to dine here.

Pros: Fabulous food., Very friendly staff & great service., Everything here that we tried tasted amazing.

Cons: Nothing! ~ We Loved it!

Exactly what CHCH needed!!

I am blown away by this cafe. I never expected such a fantastic vegan cafe to pop up in CHCH, and have been longing for something of the likes for very long, so I am greatly happy! The interior is lovely and the aesthetic is so cosy and vintage. The food doesn't even have that "plant-based" taste that you get sometimes. It just tastes like hella good food. The coffee is great too. Staff are attentive and look like they really care about what they do. Only minor criticism is that there is very limited seating given the number of customers that come in.

So far I've had:
Cherry tart - haven't tasted a cherry tart for years and this tasted just as good as I remembered.
Chocolate truffle - decadent, fudgey, perfect.
Avo feta sandwich - really satisfying and wholesome.
Cookies & Cream doughnut - Haven't had a doughnut in years either, and was super impressed by this. Didn't really taste like cookies and cream and was quite sweet, but otherwise yum!!

I plan to come back a lot more and try everything else. So grateful this cafe exists. New fave for sure.

Pros: So many good options, beautiful interior, delicious

Cons: not much seating

Lovely food, lovely staff

Such a cosy place with an all vegan menu and a great selection of drinks. I highly recommend the salted caramel shake. The sausage roll was one of the best I have ever had and the chips were fresh and not oily. Loved the paprika sprinkle on them.

Pros: well thought out menu, yummy thickshake, lovely staff

Best Cafe in Christchurch

This is the best Vegan Cafe in Christchurch. It's world class. I've tried vegan cafes in the UK, Czechia, Germany and this seriously rates.
So thrilled to have this in open in my city. They have a really nice setting in historic Addington. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and efficient. I've been back everyday since they opened! The coffee is consistently good and the they have a variety of snacks and meals available from doughnuts to a blue-collar breakfast. Try it out, you will not be disappointed.

Pros: Great Coffee, Great Food

Cons: Easy to miss, signage isn't up yet, Limited Street Parking on Busy Lincoln Road

Lovely cosy little cafe!

I absolutely love the fact that I could eat everything on this menu haha. This place just opened up recently but it's got quite a few options so I've gotta come back and try them all!

I've been twice so far and I had the soup one morning, and the hot choc (with a vegan marshmallow aaah! Yum!) and I've also been back for cabinet food and got the toasted broccoli & vegan cheddar sandwich, as well as the couscous. And the little tarts... yum! I've sampled the apple one and blueberry one, and both are really good in my opinion!

I like the atmosphere in this place - it goes for cosy, comfortable and warming. The staff have all been helpful and friendly, and I'm looking forward to coming back again!

Pros: Reasonably priced and tasty food, Cosy, comfy atmosphere

Cons: Fairly small, can't hold too many people at once
