This cafe has all sorts of vegan treats you don't come across often like doughnuts, danishes, chimichangas sausage rolls, savoury pies, and cheese scrolls. They even had a vegan Afghan, which is a Kiwi specialty but never vegan.

Wow. I don’t know what else to say that hasn’t been mentioned already. Tonnes of options. Everything delicious. Portion sizes are BIG so keep that in mind when ordering. (Their large coffee was massive). Love their little shop selling take home goodies. Had the burger and some stuff from the display case (sausage roll and steak and cheese pie). Did not have room for dessert.

I had an açai bowl and a cheese scroll and both were beautiful! Long black coffee was good and they had coconut fluffies for the little one. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the food.

I've been maybe half a dozen times by now and never had a bad meal - everything is delicious. To me, this is the gold standard for vegan food in Christchurch. It's the only place I ever have milk in my coffee because I've never found another cafe that can actually use coconut milk like they can. Staff are also always really friendly and it's always a good experience. I couldn't recommend it more.

Portershed is life! - Edit
Portershed is my favorite vegan place to eat at in Christchurch. The owner and staff are wonderful and amazing people! I always have a blast eating there. I have not had a bad menu item here. They have a wide range of menu items ranging from various yummy desserts, delicious meals, and drinks. There are so many options that I have trouble deciding on what I want to eat whenever I go there. On top of that, they sell other stuff on the side such as hemp protein cookies, snacks, milk, jackfruit and cooking ingredients. Portershed is life!

This place is great. It’s a good thing I don’t live in Christchurch, cos if I did I’d be spending all my money here! I went and had the breakfast burger with chips. Would definitely recommend. I also took a few doughnuts home with me, which were also outstanding.

I have been to many vegan places in the world, but this one is so far my favourite as a cafe. So many pastries to go with coffee and tea. Their BBQ jackfruit samie sandwich is 10/10. I could actually see my non vegan friends enjoy a coffee in this place. Not to forget friendly staff.

Very nice location with a great garden to sit outside. They offer breakfast and lunch. The coffee was really good and they have a good selection as well. I had a flat white with a mix berry muffin, was very delicious and the muffin was huge 😊! Also the people are very nice, staff is super friendly. You even can buy some products there. It’s not in the city center but totally worth going there!

Really cosy cafe with a lovely outdoor area where you can sit by the vegetable garden. Coffee is very good and there is a huge selection of vegan cabinet food - we have tried the chocolate pastry, several of the chocolate bars, the giant chocolate chip cookie and the 'chicken' nugget panini. Great cafe to take omni friends to and introduce them to great tasting vegan options. We are here at least once a week lol

It was nice to be able to eat a ham and cheese croissant, the likes of which so many cafes serve in a non-vegan version. I see they still wrap a lot of their sandwiches in cling film, which is not a good look or good for the environment. The coffees we ordered came in the wrong size. My food experience here in the past has generally been good.
