Better than it used to be

I’ve been to Shenandoah many times since moving to Maryland in 2008, and sad to say it’s never been a very veg friendly park but has gotten mildly better. This restaurant at Skyland Resort now labels the vegan and vegetarian items. The only as-is vegan items were an impossible burger and a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, pickles, and vegan mayo that had an option for vegan bacon. I got the latter and thoroughly enjoyed it. The park restaurants have always been expensive, unfortunately.

The hummus plate was listed as vegetarian, so I’m guessing there’s dairy in the bread… which I was told a few years ago before they labeled items. The chili appeared vegan if you omit cheese and sour cream, but I didn’t confirm.

Pros: Beautiful view, Best veg options I’m aware of within the park

Cons: Expensive , Not many options

Good for a mid hike meal

There aren't tons of vegan options. When we went, there was a beyond burger and a vegetarian chili that could be made vegan without the cheese. Would recommend if you're in the middle of hiking, like we were, and want something more substantial than just trail snacks!

Pros: Great view, Tastes good

Cons: A little pricey ($10 for a bowl of vegan chili)

Great service and good veg options

I ordered the vegetarian chili without the sour cream and no cheese. I added the hummus platter. All of it was fantastic and staff were very friendly.
