Lots of flavour in the sauces and portions larger than expected for the price.
The highlight was definitely the Portuguese custard tarts. I bake all the time and make a decent custard tart, but this one was incredible compared to my efforts! Perfect pastry and lots of flavour. Will definitely buy from them again!
Was really nice to have the opportunity to try Portuguese food at vegan campout.
We had the sandwich and pastel de nata. The latter was perfect, just like the original!
The sandwich was nice though could have a bit more flavoursome and the bread could have been more premium quality.
Ah the warm pastel de nata was such a breakfast treat! We also had the Portuguese sandwich and were very impressed with the amount of food for the price - hoping to see them again at TBVCO2025 and get my Portuguese tart fix!
Plantuguese had a food stall at Vegan Camp Out in Oxfordshire UK in July 2024! Absolutely delicious Portuguese food veganised! Pastal de natas, chkn piri piri, Bacalhau, Franceschina plus more! Their stall was continuously busy! Terrific! Well done Tiago and Gerda! 👏👏🤩🌱😋🐾🌏
I enjoyed their sandwich but the sauce could have used some more flavor. There was no salt at VCO, but I’m sure if I would have had a salt shaker / packet available it would have completely changed the sandwich in a good way for me. The fake meats and egg were nice.
Went here with a Brazilian who could vouch for the authenticity of the tarts (pastel de nata) and the francesinha sandwich; which was a crazy combination of flavors and tastes! Highly recommend.
We had the Fracesinha and the pastel de nata at a Festival. To be honest, I was quite skeptical about the vegan Francesinha because of the very non vegan original recipe (with sausage, bacon, steak, egg, cheese) but I was really impressed by the result, it was so tasty! Pastel de nata tasted like heaven. It is very visible they put a lot of effort and research into making delicious vegan food. Looking forward to have the possibility to eat there again!
Had the Franchesina at Download festival. Had heard so much about these, and it certainly lived up to the hype. Every item tasted incredible, and for a festival was well priced too.
Didn’t get a photo as this particular item, there is a lot of sauce so not all that photogenic 😅 but you must try it.
We tried plantuguese at a street food event in Leicester. Their concept is very unique and I don't know of many people doing vegan portuguese food. A Francesinha was the last thing you'd expect to be made vegan, but theirs was very tasty and delivered rich flavours akin to my memories of the real thing (8+ years ago now).
As everyone else has already pointed out, the pastel de natas are delicious!
Lucky enough to catch these guys at the Chiswick Vegan Market. The pastel de natas were exquisite and I’m glad I got the 4 for £10 deal. I’m gutted I didn’t try any of the savory food but next time!
Couldn't wait to try this place and it exceeded our expectations! We had a half 'chicken' with chips and salad - unbelievable texture and even crispy juicy chicken skin! And a 'cod' rice dish with fried 'egg'! Both incredible. And their pastel de nata are stunning. The made everything themselves including the cod and chicken, and even the tofu to make the cod with! Sometimes you want to be able to give more than 5 stars!! We need to reorganise our work schedule so we can come more often!
I ate a meal from them when they came to the Dunstable vegan market. They were warm and friendly. The little tables and chairs they put out were cute as well as convenient. I had the Francesinha Portuguese sandwich and it was delicious 😋 I hope I'm able to eat from them again.
Saw these guys at the Worcester vegan market. I had the pleasure of trying the Francesinha, Seafood Rice and the Custard Tarts. All were amazing. If you see these guys at a market near you, you must try their food.
Best vegan food I have ever eaten! Tasty, crunchy, colourful... Happy food! I loved the seafood rice and the Francesinha ... perfect 👌 Lovely young couple, very friendly and very professional. It's A must-do it again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went to their first pop up at printers playhouse in Eastbourne this evening and it was wonderful! 5 courses of absolutely delicious food for a very reasonable price! Very impressed indeed. I’ve had their pastel de natas before so also asked for some to take home as they are honestly the best things I’ve ever tasted! Highly recommend!
Found their pop up at Birmingham Brewing Company, it was the first stall I immediately wanted to try out. I got the Bacalhau a bras (cod fish and fried potatoes)(£12) and it was spectacular. The fish was authentic and spot on in taste. The potatoes were the perfect compliment to the fish even though they were only seasoned with coriander. I've never had Portuguese food before but I'm already wanting more. I shall be seeking them out whenever they come back close by.

Bought some frozen pastéis de nata online, they only need 10 min in the oven and a sprinkle of icing sugar and cinnamon. Delicious!
