Splurge for a special occasion! - Edit
Our second favourite for our Taipei visit! This is upscale and expensive so be prepared to spend but it's perfect for an occasion. Fantastic service - we had a rly friendly helpful waitress.
Read moreHad a soup starter, falafel plate and Korean style macrobiotic bibimbap (seaweed on side as it's a bit slimy). Beautiful presentation. Don't expect a traditional bibimbap - it's not crispy in a hot stone stone bowl - it's a more healthy version, which is wholegrain, with tempeh, and a nutty sauce. Falafel plate was good.
Also got the berry shake, chocolate shake, and a cake, all of which were great! Metal straws :)
Pros: Fantastic service, Beautiful presentation, Everything tasted healthy and great
Cons: Upscale and expensive..!

left feeling very hungry... and $700 poorer😥 - Edit
Ive been here once before and, although pricey (due to quality ingredients I suppose), the food was great. this time however, I was sorely disappointed. I ordered coffee and cake (the coffee was very weak and the cake almost inedible: no flavour, dry and still frozen inside) as well as a Caesar salad ($320 for a few lettuce leaves, croutons and a tiny, weeny bit of dressing. no chicken or bacon substitute, though to be fair those ingredients were not mentioned on the menu. at least the lettuce was fresh). anyway, I told the two female waitstaff about my experience when I went to pay and they were very apologetic and said they would pass on my feedback to the kitchen staff. they also exempted me from paying the 10% service fee (which was kind of them, but actually I feel like partial compensation for the food I couldn't eat/wasnt there to eat would have been more appropriate). I almost felt like crying as I left the restaurant (pathetic I know) because I'm a student, and I can only afford to splash out on a nice meal once a month. instead, I have just arrived home to eat leftovers from last night and feel miserable, since I wasted so much money for nothing. have to wait til next month now (sob). i most likely won't come back again (even if the food IS better next time, it's still a bit too pricey for me and I cant justify spending that amount if Im not getting value). however, I would encourage others to go if they have spare cash. it's supporting a good cause, the staff were decent people and other people's meals looked ok (more substantial than mine in any case). just don't order the Caesar salad (and be careful about the cakes)!

Really great, really healthy and you might grumble that's it's more pricey than your average Taipei restaurant but I think you are paying for the effort and ingredients here.

Good Service but Inconsistency in Food Quality - Edit
Have visited Plants several times but the food quality seems to be inconsistent. Service was good though, price is on the higher side. The raw flatbread I've ordered during my several visits tastes awesome sometimes but not up to the standard the other times. However, I'd still recommend Plants eatery.

You can tell every dish in this place was specially crafted and prepared with love. I came here with a large group and we ordered almost everything on the menu! Everyone enjoyed their meal, I especially loved the kimchi pancake and delicious smoothies. It's a special treat to be here.

Flavorful and delicious - Edit
When I discovered Plants for the first time, I had to go back three more times that same week because I loved their foods and drinks so much! I had their bibimbap, acai bowl, and mung bean hummus + crackers, as well as some of their smoothies and their Golden Sunrise latte. Oh and I had their carrot cake as well as their key lime cheesecake.
Read moreTheir smoothies are alright, at least the ones that I ordered, but that Golden Sunrise latte was amazing!!! But maybe that's because I personally love anything tumeric.
I kept going back for their bibimbap because I loved the flavors. It was light and refreshing as well as very filling with the tempeh and rice. I wish it were a bit spicer but I understand that given most of the palates in Taipei are pretty mild, it still let me appreciate the flavor medley in my mouth.
The acai bowl was also top notch. The fruits and the texture of the acai bowl weren't frozen (I hate when you order an acai bowl and it's basically just a slushie because everything was frozen beforehand!) and their home-made spirulina and cacao nib granola had distinct flavors as well (not just cardboard-tasting crunch).
That mung-bean hummus was mind blowing with how light and fluffy the hummus texture was in my mouth, it practically melted right away! Their homemade seeded crackers that came along with the hummus wasn't good but that didn't stop me from spooning as much hummus out of the bowl as possible.
Their desserts look divine, but rather bland and dry which was super disappointing.
The atmosphere was very clean and modern, and I loved how much natural lighting there was with the huge windows. There are a bunch of vegan magazines/books you can browse that are near the front of the door, and a variety of other products to purchase in their store if you wish.
They serve their water infused with rosemary, and I loved that subtle hint of rosemary! The service was nice and polite, I liked that they didn't constantly keep checking in with your meal. Even when they accidentally served a wrong drink, they said that I could keep the drink and they would just not list it on the bill.
THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THE PRICE$$$! It is very expensive, even compared to US standards of dining out. Expect to pay around 1,000~1,500 nt for 2 people for a casual meal + drinks + dessert.
Pros: Flavors were on point, Atmosphere was relaxing
Cons: Expensive$$$$, Dessert could be better

Great food - Edit
I really liked the Berry Beautiful and Macrobiotic Bibimbap, and the fact that reservations can be done online through their website. Their raw cakes are also amazing.

Good and impressing - Edit
Enjoyed my meal at Plants, but it's really quite expensive, although all their foods are organic and sprouted, still don't think is an affordable meal for all the people. Th food was great but not so impressing since the menu is pretty same to other healthy vegan places in Taipei such as Ooh Cha Cha. But I will recommend people to try once, or more if money is not a problem for you.

Good healthy flavors - Edit
I really enjoyed my meal at Plants. While I wasn't too impressed with the menu (it is almost identical to Ohh Cha Cha, another restaurant in Taipei, and so many other vegan restaurants I have been to in my country), my falafel and hummus entrée was great along with the side of oat crackers (which are great for dipping in the extra hummus). Everything was delicious and felt great for the body. Despite the alternative ingredients, it really tasted like an authentic falafel dinner from the Mediterranean.
Read moreI was a bit surprised at how hot and well-done the falafel balls were considering that this is in fact a raw restaurant. Since I am not a raw foodist, this didn't matter to me, but you might want to confirm with the kitchen about what temperature the foods are 'cooked' at if this matters to you.
It would be nice to see a more original menu, because if I were to return, I would not be interested in ordering any other dish because I have grown tired of bland and boring tempeh and rice bowls. Hopefully they will find their own identity and change things up in the future.
Pros: Great flavors, Good portion size
Cons: Menu is boring and uninspired

Opening hours - Edit
I had read good things about Plants and was excited to give it a try. Plants is almost an hour from where I live. I went on a Saturday evening, (around 6pm), a few weeks ago. Despite it also being written on the restaurant window that the place is open until 9:30pm, the restaurant was closed. I left disappointed and annoyed.

really good food. I thought the portions were generous and the price reasonable for the quality. we had hummus appetizer, tempeh bowl, shepard's pie, blueberry cheesecake and a green smoothie for $1400. left very full and happy, we will certainly go back to try the rest of the menu. I can live on $100 Buddha buffets most of the month but sometimes you want something special.

Great Raw Restaurant! - Edit
This restaurant serves some of the best raw food I've had anywhere: delicious cakes, smoothies and simple main dishes. Like all raw food it's pricier than cooked food, but I think it's excellent value. A small main dish, fresh smoothie and incredible raw cacao cake came to NT750.
Read moreThey grow some of their herbs on the street in front of the restaurant. It's a nice idea in theory, but they must soak up so much pollution from the street, so I'm not convinced about that.
It's great to see raw food taking off in Taipei. This is Taipei's best raw food restaurant (the nearby raw juice bar Universe Café is also very good).
Pros: raw food, easy to reach from red or blue MRT lines, all vegan
Cons: a little expensive, but worth it!
