Truly disappointing - Edit
Good food but very narrow menu. Mayfair area prices £££ and a very odd strict rule of no devices allowed, even when eating solo… of course they offer free wifi for the devices they won’t allow you to use at the table lol

Waitress was super sweet. Ordered oyster mushroom scallops which were amazing! 3 mini sliders were ok.. the tofu was was extremely salty that I couldn’t finish it! The cabbage with lentil dish came cold 😳 for dessert, the chocolate Babka was delicious. (So much for cutting down the carbs!!)

Disappointed - Edit
I’ve expected so much more from the food. Went there for my first breakfast in London and ordered oatmeal and matcha. Oatmeal had a bit of jam and almond butter on it, no fresh berries or fruits so overall was tasteless. And the matcha was so bitter that I couldn’t drink it. Ended up going for a breakfast to a different place. What a surprise, I’ve always wanted to come there and was so sure I would love it.

Highly recommend! - Edit
Honestly have nothing to fault for this place! The staff were so friendly and attentive, the ambience of the place was amazing, and the food was absolutely to die for! I especially recommend any chocolate lovers to try the chocolate babka dessert as it is so indulgent and rich and the best dessert I think I’ve ever had and that’s including non vegan desserts! #Veganuary

Delicious indeed! - Edit
I haven’t had the opportunity to try out the new Plants by de yet, but I went to the deli two years ago and enjoyed the food experience very much. I am a big fan of Ella and loved trying out her wonderful recipes at the deli. The space was beautifully decorated with such an inviting and cozy atmosphere. It had lots of natural light, which made the place seem bigger. The service was alright, but the prices were a bit expensive.
Read moreI had the corn fritters with smokey baked beans and avo smash for lunch - simply amazing! I couldn’t resist, so I tried the peanut cookies and the banana bread also, which were just as great. This was undoubtedly one of the food highlights of my London trip. Everything was as delicious as it looks! I’m excited to try out the new place soon and to update this review then!

Delicious food, a pricey Sunday breakfast - Edit
The quality of the food was great, sooo delicious but I wish the portions would be bigger so that we could enjoy it more. It felt like a tasting menu for the price of a meal per dish. The ambiance was really chic and the stuff was lovely. I also had one of the best coconut milk latte there

Delicious food, but pricey - Edit
The food here was really good quality and it all tasted amazing however we felt the portion sizes were on the small side considering the prices of each dish.
Read moreIt all felt quite healthy which was a bonus - fresh food and healthy ingredients.
We wouldn’t rush back here though, but we’re are glad we came because it was a lovely meal out and great food - just expect it to be on the more pricey side.
The 3 sliders dish had 3 different flavours - kimchi, tofu and jackfruit
The flatbread starter was served with homemade butter with live cultures in
The aubergine starter was amazing - really recommend this one
Mac and cheese was tasty
Apple crumble dessert was very tasty but it wasn’t a solid crumble; it was more presented like a breakfast granola bowl - tasty nonetheless.

A really nice find, literally a minute from the chaos of Oxford Street. Restaurant is quite small but there are also tables outside when the weather allows it. Suggest booking in advance via their website. We managed to get a table at 5:30pm and by the time we'd left, the restaurant was full. We were advised by the waiting staff that there might be a delay due to staff shortages but actually our food arrived in good time. And it was all lovely. Between us we had the Sourdough Flatbread, Grilled Spiced Carrots, Cauliflower Schnitzel and Chestnut, Walnut and Red Wine Ragu. The standout was the schnitzel, not at all what I expected, a nice surprise! Thoroughly recommend this place, nice atmosphere, good location and friendly staff. Most importantly, the food is great!

Horrible experience waste of money - Edit
I visited Plants last weekend and sweared that never will come back. If you want to spend a lot of money and feel that it didnt worth a penny this is the place. We spent 85 pounds as a couple and left the restaurant hungry with a sense of having throwing our money away. I follow a plant based diet and I have been in several better places than this. First, a named large plant in the menu gives you actually a very small portion and you are paying around 15 pounds each and the food is definitely not a meal for such an expensive place. Second, service is terrible, they got our napkin off before finishing the meal, wine was served without a first tasting and we saw a waitress being rude with the people beside us, seemed that they didnt want to work there. Third, we noticed in our bill a charge of 1 (one) pound without notice, a compulsory donation to the Mental Health organisation and I never agreed with that. It makes you feel embarrassed to ask to get it off the bill and it added on top of the service charge, meaning they are earning money from it as well. And then you watch Ella talking in their social media that they are donating money to this org but without mentioning that customers are paying for that as well and they are also making profits of it. I think there are plenty of reasons to never go back. If you want to spend almost 100 pounds in a restaurant I would recommend you to find a better and honest place to go.

An almost pleasant evening - Edit
We were here for dinner. The restaurant is nice, but small. It's all very close seating, so you get very close to the other person from the neighbouring table. It also gets very noisy in this small restaurant, which makes the dinner less pleasant. The food was good, but unfortunately the risotto was over-salted. The portions are not very big, but the prices are high.

We went for lunch to the newly opened Plants by De from @deliciouslyella. It's a cosy restaurant with a homely feel and plenty of plants, and very attentive service.
I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered a small plate, because I wanted to have dessert. Small plates are to share and they work as starters, but it was OK for me that day. I was talking to my partner and all of a sudden, I turn around and Ella herself brought my plate to the table. I was like a deer caught in the headlights, but my partner reacted quickly and complimented the place 😂😂 She was very sweet and asked if everything was OK.
I had the aubergine with candied nuts and curry sauce, and it was scrumptious. All the flavours came through, and the contrast between the aubergine softness and the crunchy nuts was a perfect combination. George had the chips as a side/starter, and they were crispy and herby, with a very nice dip sauce. He had the risotto as a main. I'm not a risotto fan, but he really liked it.
For dessert, I had the chocolate babka with ice cream, and sadly I have to say that it didn't live up to my standards. It was a bit chewy, like if it wasn't fresh. But I did like the flavour and the ice cream a lot. My partner had the lemon tart and I don't think it was excellent either. The base was quite hard to cut with the spoon. They were not excellent, but they were nice, and I'm sure that these small details will be addressed.
Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and we'd love to come back to try other things on the menu 🎉

Very disappointing - Edit
We went there to have an after lunch coffee with a cake as we couldn’t get a booking for lunch, and we wanted to try there. We ordered hot chocolate, and not only it was very watery and tasteless, they had no cakes at that time! The kitchen was closed as they close it for a couple hours between lunch and dinner which is ok, but then not to have at least some cakes there for an afternoon tea? I don’t think an open kitchen is necessary for that. But anyway, it wasn’t a very good experience and don’t think we’ll be coming back to try lunch or dinner.

Problems - Edit
My spicy mezcal cocktail was delicious, but I found the almost raw carrots in my starter a little baffling. The corn risotto was decent except that it was covered in some kind of unpleasant powder that gave it a very odd texture and taste. My chocolate dessert was very heavy. The wait staff seemed a little inexperienced and I had to call them over to order and ask for my bill.
Read moreThe experience would have been decent enough except that I felt incredibly nauseous at the end of the meal and when I left the restaurant I noticed my clothes reeked of oil. I wasn’t sick but I felt very unwell that night.

Underwhelmed - Edit
I need to start this review by saying I am a HUGE DE fan and cook from her books, follow her on Instagram, purchase their products and her content and approach to Plant based eating has had a huge influence on me and our family. I booked a table as soon as the much anticipate restaurant opened and we were all extremely excited to visit.
Read moreThe menu is quite small so we ordered a few different items to share. Knowing how Ella cooks and she admits she has a big appetite we were all very surprised how small the portions were. The Mac and cheese side was cut into tiny pieces of pasta, this was delicious but quite basic and disappeared fast. The chips looked like off cuts of potato and were soggy - it felt like these portions were finger food for a child. The risotto came beautifully presented and was delicious but once again a relatively small portion. Having eaten at the DE deli a few times and enjoying hearty food and portions this was all quite surprising. The sparking water in a carafe was a lovely touch and the white wine by the glass delicious.
The service was attentive and engaging and there is a elegant ambience. We all left thinking that perhaps our expectation had been too great based on our previous experiences with the brand. We were glad we went but left feeling underwhelmed.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: small menu offering, portion size

Disappointing- Poor service - Edit
Have been really looking forward to visiting plants since it reopened but was sadly quite a disappointing experiance.
Read more1. When we arrived we were seated at a table which hadn’t be reset since previous customer. Both tables either side also hadn’t been resetting and had dirty plates and glasses on. Took a good 10 mins for this to be resolved.
2. Service was slow and unattentive - constantly needing 10 mins to get someone’s attention to order food, drinks, request the bill etc.
3. The friend I visited with has food allergies. We ordered using the allergen menu - which included the chips. Despite this 10 mins after our order been taking they returned asking if she would be okay with cross contamination, which as she’s allergic to it clearly she isn’t. Food should not be marked as GF on a menu, if it is being cross contaminated. Makes for a disappointing experiance.
4. The food was then brought at different times -meaning my friend had finished her main before mine arrived. Also they brought my chips with her food, so they were then cold before the rest of my food arrived.
5. As other people have mentioned portions of the food are also surprisingly small - especially considering the price.
6. We then ordered coffees after our meal, which took 15 minutes to arrive. Again very slow service.
The food itself was nice enough - nothing amazing (the tofu slider in particular was disappointing). But the disappointing service, portion sizes and issue with allergens made this a pretty negative experience overall. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be visiting again.

Cons: Service, Prices , Allergens info

What a great find! - Edit
This is a brand new restaurant which needs to be hugely successful. The menu is varied, delicious and very innovative. The service is excellent and if I lived in London it would certainly be one of my regular haunts. Being a very fussy eater and a lover of cooking, I have no complaints about this place.

Yummy new restaurant by Deliciously Ella - Edit
Loved the food, was very delicious. We got the wild nettle risotto, cauliflower schnitzel, homemade chips and cashew and miso Mac & cheese. All lovely! The only thing is, is the portion sizes for even the big plates (risotto and schnitzel) were still a little small for the price (£14-16). Is definitely a more expensive restaurant than average. Would be nicer too if they gave out jugs or water as you have to keep asking for refills.

Plants - Edit
EXCELLENT new vegan restaurant in Mayfair! I had the salted celeriac starter and was very impressed. The cauliflower schnitzel was cooked perfectly, just the right crunch/softness and the outer coating was crunchy and tasty. While the rigatoni was good, it felt a bit basic and seemed like something you can get at a local Italian restaurant...that said, skip that dish and try some of their unique offerings. (See photos I posted of all food mentioned.)
