Super oily

Egg plant fish and chips super oily, have to use 4 large paper napkins to soak up the oil and it was still oily.
Matcha green tea donut was day old and they sold us at full price.
Jackfruit BBQ burger very good but tiny. Sweet potato fries and regular fries very good.

Cons: Too oily

Delicious lunch

We were so thrilled to find this fully vegan place in Hamilton on our road trip!! My Caesar wrap was fabulous, and so were the sweet potato fries that came with it. My non-vegan friend loved her chickpea salad wrap as well. Chill atmosphere. We picked up lunch to go from here before heading out on a road trip. The service was somewhat chaotic (busy lunch hour, lots of takeout and dine-in orders) and it took a while to get our food. Still, we didn’t mind.. I enjoyed a Cruller pastry (a type of donut I think?) and a cup of coffee while waiting and they were great.

Yum!

Update - recently tried their donuts and they were inedible. Terrible taste and texture. Would not recommend the donuts.

My husband and I ate here with my aunt and uncle who are not vegan. Everyone liked their food.

Mac n cheeze - delicious
Cesar salad - really good
Fish and chips - okay, if you don’t use the tartar sauce it’s basically eggplant tempura and the texture is too soft to be like fish
Falafel bowl - good
Reuben - good, the bread was quite soggy though

I also got an oat milk hot chocolate and it was really sweet and yummy

The word amazing feels inadequate

Have gone there twice and in both times I took a non vegan... their reviews spoke louder than mine! They were floored!. The food is super and the staff is incredible!

Pros: The Menu is incredible, The decor is great and very chill

Letting Out The Cows - Catering

I loved their lunchboxes at this fun event! I had a chickpea salad wrap, potato salad, and a pink lemonade. The wrap was scrumptious and generously filled with deliciousness - including red onions, fresh lettuce, diced bell peppers and a tangy all-vegan Dijonnaise-like sauce. The potato salad was super fresh, and featured high-quality ingredients like capers. My Dad really enjoyed his black bean salad wrap as well. Highly recommend this completely vegan restaurant!

Pros: Tasty wraps, Very fresh and delicious potato salad, Refreshing pink lemonade and iced tea

Cruciferous combo

We had an amazing brunch here! We walked in and were quickly seated, with the staff ready to take our orders and serve us almost immediately.
We ordered the Combo plate and Shmear & Lox- both amazing! We were so full after that we couldn't enjoy the desserts on display, we'll have to come back for them!

Pros: Quick service , Low prices, Delicious food!

Unfriendly and inattentive staff

Today I went to Planted for about the third time in a couple months. Although my last couple visits weren’t the best (takeout); due to surly, never smiling staff, but I wanted to give their brunch a try. This was the last time I’ll darken their doors.

They had a sign at the door to wait to be seated…no problem. But, the 3 staff behind the counter who couldn’t help but notice us, were talking to each other, moving about, and again talking to each other and not serving any customers. There was also one person on the floor busy taking an order at the tables. Not one person made any effort to acknowledge us, nod at us or smile at us and say they’d be with us shortly. So after waiting a few minutes, I entered the restaurant and asked if we could seat ourselves. I was quickly and curtly told to wait at the door and someone would be with us soon.

The person never cracked a smile or made any attempt to be friendly. If I wanted attitude and unfriendly service, I would have gone to the Karen restaurant in Toronto.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Plenty of seating, Great location on Locke Street

Cons: Unfriendly staff, Inattentive staff, Unwelcome feeling

Delicious!

We were so excited to find a completely vegan and gluten-free menu. We ordered the falafel basket, poutine and a bowl to share. Everything was delicious. Grabbed several pastries to eat later when we had room in our bellies again!

Pros: So many fabulous choices, Vegan and gluten-free

Tasty

Brunch burger very tasty. Loaded with lentil patty, vegan egg and crispy rice paper bacon. A little thick and messy to eat with hands but so good. Comes with a side. Service a little disorganized with busy take out as well as eat in customers and took a while for meal to arrive. Reasonably priced and plenty of options.

Pros: All vegan , Tasty food, Reasonable prices

Always good :)

I recently got the Mac & cheese and it was very warm, cheesy and filling. I usually get the bowls but I have never had one I didn’t like. I also indulge on the brownies or a slice of whatever is featured. Delish!

Pros: Portion size is good, Different options , Always something new on the menu

A nice choice for Hamilton.

I’ve eaten here twice over the years (on visits to Hamilton). My first experience was good. I had their daily soup to start and one of their burgers for my main. The second time around I had their chickpea fritters with garlic aioli along with their mexi-bowl on a bed of greens. Both were good but nothing to write home about. I also tried two of their desserts: the peanut butter chocolate square and their cheesecake. The chocolate square was much tastier and quite sweet. The cheesecake was ok.

Disappointing.

Restaurant is decorated nicely, and nice to have a vegan restaurant in the neighborhood. But the food was very disappointing and over priced. We had asked for the chickpea bites to start. And then 2 dishes as our meal. They did not bring us anything to start, just 3 dishes all at once, and they weren't even hot!! Too bad we were very excited to try after reading the reviews. The planted mac was extremely watery, the burger we has was extremely dry, noting we ate was worth coming back for.

Pros: At leaste it's vegan

Cons: Expensive, low quality, served cold.

Love

The staff are awesome. So kind and really care about the customers. I never feel that heavy gross feeling after eating here, just a content full. The nachos are a must try! More toppings than chips! When does that ever happen? Atmosphere is great, cozy, bright and welcoming. Clean place as well. Colouring for kids or anyone! Accessible space as well.

Rooted in deliciousness

Best bowls and baked goods in town. They often have day old baked good packs on sale for half price—an amazing deal. Their best dish is their breakfast bowl, usually only available during brunch—now and again it shows up on their menu for the day. Snag it! If it’s not available get the mexi bowl and add their cashew cheese sauce.

Pros: All vegan, Cookies and cakes to die for

Comfy, cozy food

Regularly come by here, always excited to see the soup of the day. Pretty much everything on the menu never dissapoints, and they have so many options for add on sauces and side dishes to any meal. I especially reccommend the planted burger with side soup, or mexi bowl (this enormous thing is 2 meals for the price of 1). Go check them out!!

Pros: Comfy seating to eat and be with people, Amazing baked goods to enjoy after your meal , Super sweet staff

Cons: Gluten-free (just me, this is obvi pro for others

So Delicious!

My husband, my son and I ate here the other day so I was lucky to be able to sample quite a few things in one visit. I had the Thai Bowl which was fantastically delicious. My son ordered the Cashew Mac, again delicious (new vegan/5 year old approved). And my husband ordered the Planted Burger with a side of Poutine. My husband is newly vegan and this experience helped showed him that you don’t have to sacrifice flavour or your favourite dishes to be vegan. We both agree that his burger was delicious and in his words, the poutine was “dope”. I loved the kombucha as well. And then we shared the Brownie Sundae that was absolutely fantastic, 10/10.. and grabbed a couple cookies to take home. They were probably the best cookies over ever had; big, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We will be going here again and again. So pleased with our first visit.

Pros: Delicious food, Vegan, Cozy atmosphere

Best Vegan Breakfast around

I’ve been here many times and have never been dissatisfied. Not only is the food delish and quickly prepared, the atmosphere they have created is unlike any other!
I’ve only ever gone for breakfast, and it’s the best vegan breakfast I’ve had!
The baked goods are also delish!
