Amazing food but noisy as hell - Edit
What a combination between exquisite food, and unpleasant atmosphere...
Read moreThe very trendy and very full restaurant, was beautiful, and the food was amazing, but we couldn't speak or hear each other due to poor acustica and loud noise.
We had some wonderful sushi, with watermelon based tuna fish, the udon noodles with Alfredo sauce and truffle was so good, everything we ordered hit the spot, at high volume, and the deserts were very good, especially the macha cheese cake.
Pros: Great food, Beautiful place, All vegan
Cons: Acustica was very bad, Had a reservation but waited long for the table

Not being able to have a conversation (or hear myself think when dining alone) is one of my pet-peeves. I don't care how "trendy," if they don't care about the customers' comfort while dining, that's a huge thumbs-down! 👎

Salty and overpriced set menu dishes - Edit
We had a party of 11 so they didn't
Read moreallow us to order dishes we want, but made us pick 1 out of 2 set menus. We pick menu 2, which is the more expensive one because I love their sushi ( I tried them at planta Toronto and Washington DC before).
The spicy tuna tacos were a little salty and the mapo tofu dish was too salty that we had to return it back to the kitchen, all we could taste was soy sauce 🤮, but we still had to pay full price for the set menu ($80/person plus tip, tax, and 4% event fee?!). No compensate whatsoever. They served mapo tofu and curry without rice eventhough both dishes are very salty. When we asked for rice they charged $5/ bowl 🙄. Sesame shrimp toasts were too oily. The sushi platters were good and were my favorite but there were just too much food for 11 people. We have so many left over and we asked to have the food packed up to go, but THEY FORGOT TO PACK THE SUSHI PLATTERS!! We had a full plate of them and I was so excited to eat them later just to realized they were not in the togo bag. We also waited a long time to get our desserts and they were just okay. We paid so much but only enjoyed 5 out of the 9 dishes. I don't know why we had to have a set menu and couldn't pick our dishes. Overall, I don't think I would recommend this restaurant for group event if they make you do set menu because not all of the dishes are good. Our experience was so bad that I will not return to the restaurant again
Pros: Sushi platters , Udon noodle, Thai green curry
Cons: Overpriced , Salty food, Set menu for group event. You can't pick your own

Great food and atmosphere - Edit
We came for lunch and were pleased to have so many tasty options. Sushi was good but maybe a little bland on the dragon roll. Definitely would try some other rolls next time! Bang bang broccoli was great with great flavor. Udon noodles were hearty and flavorful. Bao slider was tasty so order a couple.

Some of the best vegan sushi - Edit
I recommend the torched & pressed sushi, vegan unagi, vegan tuna, crispy rice, and the truffle udon. The drinks are also great, especially lych please. I do not recommend coming with older people since it is very loud and somewhat overwhelming atmosphere

Amazing - Edit
One week in NYC and this was our favorite meal. We ordered the Bang Bang Broccoli, the Crispy Gyoza, and the Rainbow Roll. All three dishes were great, but the BBB particularly stood out. Great spot for dinner and drinks.

Nice place and good food - Edit
The restaurant is more upscale, good for a date or a fancier night out. It was very busy so you have to book in advance, however if you are alone or with someone else you might be able to sit at the bar!
Read moreIt is pricey but the food was good! Staff very friendly as well!
Cons: They could offer more dessert options

Great sushi and cocktails - Edit
We (six people) ordered around 20 dishes and were so stuffed we could hardly move afterwards. The food was great, particular favourites include the rainbow roll, the cauliflower, sweet potatoes, and the spicy Thai basil margarita cocktail.
Read moreThe restaurant is nice, but the music was very loud and quite cheesy which made for an odd atmosphere at times. Probably not the best for bringing your parents or grandparents, but great for a night out with friends.

Interior beautiful, staff is more than kind, (music a little too loud) but the food is incredibly amazing and yummy!! We ordered 5 different raw meals and each and every one of them was a score. Highly recommend for a cute night out with friends or a partner.

Looks nice for a date but underwhelmed - Edit
This place was recommended by non vegans and ended up not being that great. Maybe we just got some of the worse stuff but I’ve had much better food for much cheaper. Glad it’s vegan and popular though, gotta give them credit for making plant based cool.

Absolutely incredible - Edit
This was some of the best food in NYC, with lovely service, amazing choice and all delicious! It is also an incredible atmosphere so made it feel like a super special place to go. I particularly loved that it wasn’t fake meats but rather vegetables done in incredible ways - one you could happily also take non vegans to! Definitely book (we went at 5:45pm and it was BUZZING) and try everything - it was all amazing!!

Big choice, delicious food - Edit
I was lucky to try a number of dishes during my latest stay in NYC and need to admit that I absolutely loved most of them! My fav were: rainbow sushi, creamy truffle mushroom udon, spinach curry, bang bang broccoli and May limited offer - creamy ramen with asparagus. I enjoyed as well the potatoes with kimchi, but it wasn’t for everyone taste. Beetroot avocado tartare was good but relatively small so I recommend more as an add on. The staff is very friendly and helpful😄

Excellent Asian fusion and dessert - Edit
Beautifully designed, aesthetic restaurant in downtown Manhattan serving creative Asian fusion dishes, made vegan. The food was show-stopping and appreciated by my non-vegan companions. The most outstanding dish was the matcha cheesecake - so luscious and creamy, and the subtle matcha-coconut flavor was on point. For the savory dishes, the bang bang broccoli was our favorite. It's best to share the dishes so you get to try a bit of all the exciting flavors.
Read moreHowever, Planta isn't without its downsides. The service was slow and not particularly attentive, even though it was 4 pm (not peak hours). The food and especially the drinks are a bit expensive, but worth it if you want to treat yourself.
Overall though, my friends and I enjoyed our experience here and we would recommend visiting this restaurant.
Pros: Matcha cheesecake, Creative dishes, Centrally located in NYC
Cons: Slow service, Pricey

Delicious - Edit
This was my first time here, and immediately upon entering I was swept away by the ambience (lighting, music, seating arrangement, and open kitchen concept.)
Read moreI was hungry before I was seated, so I Immediately ordered the Bang Bang Broccoli that I've heard so much about, along with the XO Tofu. They did not disappoint. The Tofu was well seasoned (and tasty, with beautiful presentation. The broccoli was both sweet and spicy, and complemented the tofu nicely.
Together, these were more than enough to satisfy my hunger and my palate. However, I might have been inclined to order another item on the menu, or even dessert were it not for the prices, which I thought were a bit high. Nevertheless, I would come back, especially on any of the days they have the "after-5pm" special offers.
Pros: Ambience, Food presentation and preparation
Cons: Slightly overpriced

So Many Good Things - Edit
Bring friends (vegan or not) so you can try lots of dishes. Great stuff to share: cauliflower tots are crispy and tasty, bang bang broccoli is crazy crispy with spicy peanut sauce, dragon sushi roll somehow tastes like tuna, crispy fried dumplings burst with flavor, and XO Tofu with great soy chili sauce. Had the Singapore noodles too with amazing flavor. Really loved this place.

Enjoyed the dinner here especially the Torched and Pressed roll, Baby Bok Choy, Bang Bang Broccoli, and Bao Slider. The Potato Truffle dumplings and 1000 Layer Potato were just okay for us, nothing special. Great spot for large groups and date nights.
