Read moreThe other dishes a bit disappointing. The 1000 layer potatoes sounded so good but ended up being a glorified hash brown with coconut cream on top. The Chinese chick'n salad fell short with a yellow sauce that's supposed to be mandarins and no sesame, plus the chick'n is breaded. Oh and that other thing with the Brussels, don't order that.
Pros: Sushi dishes
Cons: 3 out of 3 non sushi were not so good, Pricey

I came at happy hour and took advantage of the snack menu. I can’t account for the entrées, however the three items I ordered were very pleasing. Service was also good.

The most incredible sushi - Edit
The eggplant/aubergine nigiri has the most incredible flavours! Smoky and the perfect texture to the eggplant/aubergine! The crispy rice with spicy watermelon and avocado is SO yummy. And the crispy mushroom hand roll was delicious. So of the best vegan sushi I’ve ever had, probably the best in LA. All fresh ingredients with perfect sushi rice and all the extra sauces they give you! Highly recommend!!

Although I've had better vegan sushi at Shojin and Shizen in SF, Planta is also a great option. Service was also really good along with the non sushi dish we ordered (artichoke dip). The variety in their menu is good for those who may not be keen on eating sushi. Something for everyone.

Fresh and creative take on food - Edit
Had a great lunch here recently. Started with dragon roll and bang bang broccoli (split with friend). Had the spinach and artichoke wrap for the entree. Eating here made me realize how many just okay meals I’ve had, as this was one of the best lunches I’ve had in a long, long time. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

We shared the power lunches today - starters spicy tuna roll and dragon rolls, both excellent. For entrees we shared the pasta - ehh - and the avocado tartare, pretty good. Food took soooo long to arrive! No idea why. We took the dessert - brownies - to go because we were actually going somewhere and were late. The brownies were excellent. Prices are good for what we had.

Ordered a selection of dishes for lunch, all were excellent: cauliflower soup, sushi, kelp salad (not really a Caesar but very good), 1000 layer potatoes, bang bang broccoli, and the cookie is the perfect closer.

Expensive but diverse menu. Each Planta has a theme beyond its core sushi menu. This one is Italian, so pasta, pizza, burgers and also some Asian options. Some portions aren’t huge but it’s all well crafted.

Love this place. The food always impresses me. Food is meant to be shared - which I recommend doing, so you can try everything. The dishes are different than the Planta in Marina Del Rey, so it’s worth checking out the different locations😄
