Very enjoyable experience but costly

Was seeking vegan restaurants in Bahrain and Plant cafe has set the bar high as my first find.

Restaurant is clean, modern and staff are friendly. The entire menu is plant based, it does lean a lot of mushrooms and reading the “about us” booklet on the table seem to have strong values and morals.

To start I had cauliflower sushi which was really good, only good vibes on this one!

For my main I was feeling particularly hungry and ordered the classic burger. The classic burger was nice and flavourful however as a personal preference the burger patty I would describe a bit a pastey opposed to the more meatier texture you find on alternative vegan burgers.

Dessert was the tiramisu which finished the meal off very nicely and managed to retain that creamy fullness that can sometimes be lost with vegan food.

To drink I had a sweet green juice which was very nice.

Questionable area for me was the price at 19.250BD or £47 for fellow Brits. I think they are balancing on the fine line of expensive to too expensive however if the money is going towards better sourced ingredients and fair wages then it will be easier to sallow.

Overall I would come back again, probably wouldn’t get the burger again but the menu has many options

Pros: Menu choices

Cons: Burger texture

My favourite place for vegan food in Bahrain

Food is excellent and the menu leaves you spoilt for choice. Fantastic service and decor. The best thing I’ve had there is the breakfast burrito!

The best Vegan dining experience

Wow. The food here was incredible. So much variety and flavours I've never tasted before. The dumplings were amazing. The cheese platter was to die for. The Kelp noodles dish was probably one of the best Vegan dishes I've ever had. The desserts for divine. Strawberry cheescake was lovely and the tiramasu was incredible. Everything had amazing presentation, so pretty! Staff were great. Love the decoration and books on shelf. Great experience although heft price tag.

Pros: amazing food., variety, decor

Cons: small portions
