Serves meat, vegan options available. Pizzeria offering a range of vegetarian options. BYO. Open Mon-Thu 17:00-23:00, Fri-Sat 17:00-23:30, Sun 17:00-23:00.
It's an indie pizza joint. Got the "Viva la vegan" with garlic bread, wedges and drinks as a walk in.
This is a take out, so no eating in. First impressions are that it's cool - or run and owned by millennials which is no bad thing, it means it's pitched at the likes of me! - and it was slammed busy, to the point where service was not the quickest - but not really slow either.
Vegan and veggie offerings are extensive and thoughtful, with 4 fully vegan pizza offerings as well as the chance to design your own.
As for the food: the garlic bread I think had too much dough, but clearly was made out of very high quality ingredients. Slightly burned round edges. Potato wedges were clearly from a fresh potato, not frozen or anything and the BBQ sauce was also I think made by them - again all good and flavourful. Pizza was the "Viva la vegan" - no cheese and slightly moist on top, but very tasty indeed. They have many, many vegan cheeses to choose from including applewood.
Would I recommend it? Heck yeah, the pizzas were tasty and unique in Northern Ireland's copy & paste pizza joints and chains. Worth a try and clearly a lot of effort has gone in. The pizzas are fresher, more "cheffy" - if your best mate had a ton of gear and was really into pizzas, he'd open this place.
The vegan Brooklyn is absolutely delicious. I believe the only vegan side that is available is the garlic bread, make sure you ask for it with garlic oil as I think the way they usually make it is with garlic butter.
Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating😄their Brooklyn vegan pizza is incredible and definitely one of the best vegan melted cheese. Would 100% recommend adding garlic oil as well
I’ll start off by saying Pizza Works is probably one of the nicest Pizza spots in Belfast, so tasty! But while they make an effort for Vegetarians with items marked ‘V’, some of that stuff isn’t actually veggie-friendly as it has Parmesan (pics from menu included).
Last time I went here I got a takeaway Meal Deal for Two. After explaining to the server that I was a vegetarian, he advised that their chips are cooked in the same fryer as chicken- so I got two garlic breads instead. They are cooked in veg oil though, if you don’t mind the cross-contamination.
