Great Pizza - Edit
Great Vegan options with build your own pizza of giant slice and they use Diaya mozzarella and have a vegan tomato sauce.

The True Meaning of Pizza - Edit
The Queens (Artichoke hearts, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes) with vegan cheese is where it’s at. Always in the massive 24-inch size (for two people) because it’s just as good cold the next day. Family with gluten allergy loved the GF options when they visited, too!

NY Style Pizza with Vegan Options - Edit
A few months ago Pizza Casbah could top any of their pies with a wonderful vegan mozzarella cheese made just down the street at Gold Leaf. I loved that there was a relationship between businesses which seemed mutually supportive and totally cool.
Read moreLast week I visited with my wife and little boy which is when we asked about ordering some slices with the special Gold Leaf cheese, but they said it was no longer available. BUMMER! However they did suggest topping it with Daiya cheese, which was a somewhat sad consolation but we said okay. The pizza guy also steered me toward ordering a whole pie since it would cost less overall than individual slices (and probably because they use already prepped/cooked/cheese-topped slices anyway, making the order more complicated). He also threw on some basil for our basic mushroom pie (after asking) since he knew we were paying extra for the Daiya.
Overall we were happy to be eating pizza and playing arcade games on a night out as a family. The Daiya was just okay, but their crust, sauce, and toppings were spot on. I was also happy they helped us find a compromise and are considerate of vegans like us!
Pros: Fast service, Friendly staff, Old arcade games
Cons: Daiya cheese is a sad replacement

Make sure to ask for the vegan sauce. The texture isn’t amazing but the flavor is excellent.

I love that they offer the vegan mozzarella from Gold Leaf Collective (a wonderful all-vegan restaurant that you should definitely try if you haven’t). Unfortunately, this version of mozz doesn’t translate well to pizza. It’s weirdly fluffy with a mealy texture.
